:) Hi! I am new t the boards, so please bear with me! My husband and I are thinking about going to disney world at the end of march with our 2 boys...who will be 3 and 8 months at that time. Is that crazy? From what I understand spring break tends to be the weeks before and after Easter, so I am hoping it wont be too bad as far as crowds go...any advice????????

Actually, spring breakers (college was well as others)descend upon disney most of March and april with the bulk of them around the Easter holiday, so crowds can be a bit dicey here and there.

:welcome:

I don't think its nuts to want to go to Disney at any time :) That being said my best advice would be
1. take breaks in the afternoon
2. utilize the baby stations, they are air conditioned and they have high chairs, changing stations, breast feeding rooms as well as a room with toys and movies for your 3 year old. baby stations are located at the following places: Magic Kingdom – Located behind the Crystal Palace Restaurant
Epcot – Located the Odyssey Center, MGM Studios - Found at Guest Relations in the front of the Park, Animal Kingdom -Near Creature Comforts in the Safari Village
3. bring lots of snacks like granola bars and goldfish and water bottles to keep hydrated
4. make sure you get to MK early, utilize AM EMH if you are staying on property, and head straight for fantasyland
5. have fun!!

as far as crowds at the end of march, crowds will be picking up at that point but it won't be wall to wall people like 4th of july/christmas week :) just take your time and remember, a bad day at disney is better than an amazing day at work ;)

We went with another couple last year in February. We had a 9 month old, they had an 11 month old, and we each had an older child as well. We did not have any trouble at all. The babies even napped in their strollers when they got tired. If you plan to fly, you may want to ship diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, etc.. to the hotel in advance, so it will be there waiting for you. Make sure you bring a stroller. You may want to bring a double stroller, because you will be doing alot of walking. (You can rent strollers from Disney, but we wanted our own for the infants.) I would also reccomend staying on property, which makes it easier to go back to your room if necessary. I would be happy to answer any other questions. We had a wonderful time and were glad we went. I am only hoping it will be as easy this year since the baby is now a wild toddler, who never wants to be restrained.

Is there any reason why you couldn't go at an off time? My kids are all in school, and I miss the days of being able to travel off-season. Maybe February or May?

thanks soooo much for the advice!!! I'll take all I can get! I had actually wondered whether or not I could order stuff from diapers.com or something and have it sent directly to a disney resort...I think that would help tremendously! Did you do the busses when you went? how did that work out?? I am sort of scared and am thinking we may need to stay at the contemporary or some other place ont he monorail...

I went with a 6 month old & twin 2 1/2 year olds - it can be done - take your time, stay hydrated. The baby is the easiest part - they tend to fall asleep if things are overwhelming. Enjoy!

I brought my boys when they were both about that age. It was a lot of fun. Just be flexible in your expectations...you probably won't be staying at the parks all day. I would definitely suggest bringing your own stroller. And probably some kind of baby carrier. Have lots of snacks on hand as well. Kids that age are always eating...it's easier to have a backpack full of healthy snacks than it is to hunt something down every time they start getting hungry!

Have fun!

Our first trip with the kiddos, my DD was 3 and DS was 10mths and they both had the time of their little lives. My DD still remembers stuff from that trip and cant wait until we go back in April.

If you have been before solo, just try to remember you can not go at the same speed... we had to keep reminding ourselves :rotfl:
