Hi all! I am planning a surprise trip for my son June 24-July 2. Can anyone let me know about crowd levels and temperatures? Thanks in advance for any help.

Crowds will be up as will the temps and humidity! The first two weeks in June aren't as bad as far as crowds go. We have been to WDW in late Aug, late Oct, mid-Nov, and late Nov into Dec. Nov is our favorite time to go. But, we are going this June. I figure it will rain almost every day for a short time. It will be in the 90's, with high humidity, but not as high as in August. Since most schools in the US are out by then, it starts to get crowded. But, it is doable.

Yeah, June is hot and crowded. But if you go into it with those expectations, you won't feel overwhelmed.

I spent a week at WDW in August '98 and we found that if we hit the parks in the morning and did non-park stuff in the afternoon, we were ok. Take advantage of water parks and the pool. Staying onsite is almost necessary so you can take afternoon breaks.

Summer hours are usually long, so go to the parks in the evening also when a lot of people are worn out and gone, but the temps are nice and mild. Well, mild enough. ;)

As already mentioned, hot and crowded. HOWEVER, we love it HOT!!! We usually swim the day away and hit the parks in the evening after the pm summer storms.

We went last year June 28th thru July 10th. Whoa, it was HOT !! :earseek: I am from the north too, "Luv Donald Duck" (Long Island), so I was a little surprised that the temp. difference felt as extreme as it did. But after a day or so we were a bit better. At least the kids didn't feel like they would pass out everytime they stepped outside. But as everyone has said, as long as you expect it and don't plan on going into commando mode you should be OK. The parks being open late was a great help for else. We turned into night owls to avoid the sun. The lightening storms everyday were absolutely spectacular to watch - but it was very disruptive to the parks. The rain would come in sheets...then as quickly as it started it would be gone. Then everything dried up and 15 minutes later you couldn't even tell that it had rained !! Biggest piece of advice I can give you, don't get your heart set on a certain schedule when you get down there. The heat, weather, or crowd levels in the parks can cause you to change your plans in an instance and if you(or the kids) really had your heart set on something and have to change it can be hard. Try to just roll with the flow and enjoy it. :sunny:

That time of year gets a bit crowded, but I find it to be tolerable. You can minimize line by judicious use of fast pass.

Weather in Orlando from mid June to September is almost always the same, sunny, high 92 to 95, humid, and a good chance of "5 o'clock Charlie", the 15 minute thunderstorm. Unfortunately, the short thunderstorm actually increases the humidity as the puddles evaporate. It's the humidity that can make it unbearable. Find shade and AC when possible, drink LOTS of water, and don't overdo it if you are not used to the heat/humidity.

I liked the 5 o'clock Charlie also! We're doing June 7-13 and I'm preparing also. Thankfully, I'm not too worried about heat and humidity since we swelter through it in Oklahoma from May to September. Is Florida's spring allergy season passed by then?
