:confused3 Hi! We are thinking of taking a trip to WDW in July with our then 11 month old and 5 year old DS's. I was wondering if this was a good idea or a good time to go with them. We were also thinking of going in October which will my our youngest 14 months. I would love to hear from everyone  who had young ones on how they did and on any ideas.
Thanks :wave2:

If you have the choice, go in October! Lower crowds, less heat, and the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. Should be less expensive if you check in before October 5, which is when regular season starts. Value season is September and the first few days of October. If you check in by September 30, you should also get free dining if you book an on-site package! :thumbsup2

Well, any time is a good time for Disney, but you would never catch us there in July -too hot and too crowded. We have been in June. We were tempted by the current free dining offer (available August and September), but decided not to because of the likely oppressive heat -and the toll it would take on the kids' endurance. We like January much better

I will there in July with my DD6. I know it will be hot, but we live in Texas, so hopefully we will be used it, and have a lot of fun!!!! It can't be that bad, look how many people do go all summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

We go every July and we love it! We also went in January this year and while the crowds were less I wasn't crazy about having to put the kids in hats and gloves to watch the parade!

July is fine as long as you follow some basic guidelines:

Get to the parks at opening'
Leave mid-day for a nap/swim break
Go back at night for dinner and maybe to watch a parade or fireworks show
DRINK! DRINK! DRINK!
Get a water/fan sprayer bottle - or two
Make sure your trip is long enough that you take some time to relax.

July is when we always go. There's not enough fingers and toes on everybody to count the number of times we've gone in July. Personally this is when I love to go to Disney. We've been when its not so crowded, and I sorta miss seeing a lot of people. I'm a "people watcher" person, and love talking to as many people as I can while there. I've meet people from all over the world, and in one case at DLP, we ran into one of my daughters school classmates there.

Like kimkarli, we're also from Texas and "hot and humidity" are not an issue for us. Yes there are a lot of people then, but its not all that awful. You learn to pace yourself, keep hydrated and take those afternoon breaks. If you do the parks like a commando, you'll suffer for it.

We've been in July, many pounds & years ago :goodvibes & it was way too humid & hot--felt like we were 'swimming' through the air, it was just so dense.
Had a uncomfortable time trying to catch my breath.

When we lived in Corinth, TX--just outside of Dallas--the ladies in my bunco group would talk about how they avoided WDW in the summer! Wow! if those Steel Magnolias found it oppressive-- well, we just never tried it again.

I'd pick October over July anytime. October weather is usually really nice and the crowds are more managable.

I live in FL, about 2.5 hours away from Disney, and I can tell you that I never go in July. I never go to any theme park in July. It is just too hot. I mean, you walk outside and start sweating.

We always go to Florida in July. The last time we went is when we went to WDW. I'm not going to lie, it was warm, but we were all so excited about being there that it didn't matter. We weren't walking around dripping wet or gasping for air. When we feel we did need a little break, we would stop for lunch or a quick drink in an air-conditioned place. My kids were only 3 and 4 when we went and never once did I hear them complain about the heat. (And believe me, they will complain about everything!!) It is just too exciting of place to let the heat get you down. Whatever you decide, Good Luck! and enjoy yourselves! :yay: :wave2:

We go the 3rd week in July every year! This year we will be taking our 14 month old DD with us for her 1st trip!!! DH and I are used to going at quite a fast pace in the July heat at WDW, however this year we are looking forward to having our DD "slow us down" to enjoy the little details!!! We will definitely be taking it at her pace, and will be resting in the afternoons while she naps. Just remember to keep hydrated (esp. your little one!) :)
