Hi there,
We are pondering between our typical January Cruise or changing it up a bit this year and go back to Disney in January . (We usually go in April same week every year. Over the 19th for our sons birthday)

How is it in January?
Weather Wise?
Busy wise? Are the wait lines shorter?

As well are there ever any special rates in January, or Free dining options?

any advise is great!!!
thanks

We were there for a week this past January, including MLK weekend. Traffic did pick up considerably during those few days. The day we got there was beautiful - wore shorts, went swimming. The day we left was beautiful - wore shorts, no time to swim. In between was a different story! Most mornings it was 32 degrees when we left our room at Pop to head to the buses. It got down to 30 at night and one day I don't think it hit 60. But the time the sun started heading down, it got pretty chilly. We used our gloves, hats, multiple sweatshirts and hand warmers. We're going again next year in ealry February and we'll be bringing warmer clothes. The crowds, other than MLK weekend, were great. Waits for the most popular (rock n roller coaster, toy story mania, etc) but not too bad for others, even tower of terror, space mountain, thunder mountain, etc. Hope this helps!

Well-in early January you have a few days that are continued from the holiday, then you run into marathon weekend, then MLK weekend. I believe it usually slows a bit after that. Marathon runners are in the resorts but people here have said the parks aren't all that crowded then-they pick up for MLK weekend & then slow down again. We were there last year last week of January-wasn't bad-low crowds-picked up on the weekend b/c of a cheer/dance competition & the Superbowl. Weather is iffy-they had a frost before we arrived. Days are usually decent-cool nights-but no guarantees on that!

We were there at the same time. It was cold at night then during the week it warmed up a bit and when we left the weather channel was saying it was heading down into the low 40s again. We are from Ohio and they had a blizzard during the week we were there so we were pretty comfortable at WDW.

We are going down this year on MLK Sunday and I am wondering how crowded our resort will be and the parks on that Sunday. I am sure things will slow down Monday afternoon and the crowds will have left. Anyone been through this?
