I am seriously considering taking my DD4 at the beginning of February by myself and wondered how the weather and crowds were? We just returned from a trip at the beginning of May and she loved it and I have the oppurtunity to take her again in February and would love to hear from others who have made the trip during this time.

:sunny:

We were just there in Feb of this year to celebrate DH's 40th. The weather was warm, high 70's. We wore shorts the entire trip. However, it rained all day and night the last day that we were there. It did not stop us!

I have been twice during February. Once in 2004 from 2/10-2/17, it was a little busy due to the hoilday but still very manageable...weather was in the 80's...it rained a few times, but only at night. In 2006 I was there 2/24-3/4, it was a little hotter....high 80s-low 90s but it never rained! Crowd level was wonderful not very crowded at all, the longest we waited was 15 mins for Soarin'!

Hope this helps.

I'm glad the previous posters had warm weather, but I want to warn you that February weather in Orlando is completely unpredictable.

You could have nice warm days, but you could also have mornings near freezing and afternoons around 50 degrees. So pack a little of everything!

We were there this past Feb. and there were some mornings that were pretty cold, but for the most part it was very nice and very comfortable. Crowds were pretty good!

We normally go in Febuary just to get away from the Canadian winters. Also when its a big Family trip my sister is a professor so we have to go when her University is on reading week which is in Feb. Weather is unperdictable. The week before we left last year, sunny and in the 80's. We arrived, there were frost warnings at night at I think we hit a high of 60 one day while we were there. Its was cold and rainy. But we were not in 8 feet of blowing snow with a windchill so we didnt care.

We are going again this year in Feb. we just watch the weather like a hawk before we go and pack for whatever might happen.

We thought it was a great time to go. Our family stayed out all day even with a 1 yr old b/c the weather was so comfortable she would fall asleep before we could head back to the room for a nap. Low crowds, nice weather(70's) had a great time.

We went this past President's week and we loved the weather. We are headed back this next February. We are from Maine so the weather seemed especially nice for us. We wore shorts every day and went swimming in the heated pool at Windsor Palms. We had heard the weather might be cold in Feb, so we packed long pants and shirts too but never needed them. Because we stayed in a pool home with a washer and dryer, we didn't really have to pack too many outfits for cold weather because we knew we could wash it if we needed to.

We went in Feb. 2004 and it was nice. The weather was cooler than what the pp had - more capri then shorts weather. It was a little on the humid side, but not too bad. The only time it rained was at night, which was nice because it didn't mess with our days. When we went (2nd - 9th) there was so me sort of deal going on...I think it was a package discount deal..it saved us over $1000! I would go again in February if we couldn't go in October (my personal favorite!)...

HTH!

Didn't have much of a winter this past February, but don't let that fool you, it can be cold. However, it is not generally too cold to dampen the enjoyment, and if you are coming from the North, it's a fair bet that the February weather at WDW will be better than where you are. :goodvibes

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::
we were there then too! I totally agree! The sweatshirts/jackets were off by lunchtime, but we did need them in the am.

We were there this past Feb for 17 days and we will be returning this Feb for the same. We has 3 days last Feb that there was frost and it was cold. No big deal for us we live in NE. We leave lots of very cold weather and snow so a little frost is no biggey.

Those are the days where we choose to do something else. Here is a weather site and we keep up to date before we leave ao we know what to expect.

You must have been there when we were! I could not believe how cold it was and I am from Minnesota. We only brought a couple of pants and sweatshirts and the rest shorts and t-shirts. Let's just say the shorts and t-shirts never made it out of the suitcase. I was freezing the whole time and it was very strange walking around DW when everyone was in parkas, hats, and mittens. I ended up one night having to buy a sweatshirt in Canada (Epcot) to go over the sweatshirt I already had on. It was crazy! But we still had a great time! :thumbsup2

The 1st week of FEB is our favorite time of year to go! We went in 2002 and in 2006 and we're planning to go again in 2007!

Nights can get cold, but during the day it's normally cool enough for short sleeves. I usually dress in layers so I can be comfortable no matter what the weather does. We did get rained on for 2 days this last time, but it wasn't a big deal...we just threw on our cheap ponchos from Target and put the kids under the rain covered umbrella strollers and still had a blast! You'll definitely need to pack more just because you have no idea if the temps will be in the 80s or 40s. The crowd levels that week are very low, so we only used fast pass once throughout the entire 6-day trip!

Last year there was a discount rate for that time as well. The rate came out at the very end of OCT 05 and it gave us free park hoppers and a slight room discount. I think we saved a little over $200 with the discount.

We were there Feb 6-18, 2005. It was warm somedays-shorts and t-shirts, other days it was quite chilly and windy-jeans, long sleave shirts and sweatshirts. We got lucky in that there was only 1 day with any rain though! It's definitely unpredictable.

We were there Feb 7-14th, good thing we brought our Jackets down with us because we ended up wearing them and our gloves at night. Hoping this year its warmer.

What are the crowds like in February? We originally planned on mid to late January(the weather doesn't bother us-cannot be as cold as home during that time!). Should we stick with Jan, or could we go the week of presidents day and not take the kids out of school for so long and still not have huge crowds? Or should we just wait until later in Feb?

We've gone the last week of January the past two years and the weather was good - compared to our cold South Dakota winters. It does get quite cold in the evenings, so be prepared with coats. But, I would definately recommend this time of year because the crowds are thin.

I think it depends WHEN you go in FEB. We usually go the 1st week of FEB and the crowds are thin. BUT - in 2007 Presidents Day is FEB 19 and Mardi Gras is FEB 20th...I would be a little worried that crowds could be larger since both fall at the same time in 2007. I would avoid that date if possible.
