Hey everyone,

I'm new to the boards and I have a question. We are planning on going to the World Sept 6 - Sept 12 and I was wondering if anyone knew what the crowds would be like. We wouldn't actually be getting to the parks until Sept 7 so we'd miss the Night of Joy crowd. Good time to go? Bad time? I was hoping to get a few crowds but still be warm enough to use the pool at the hotel. Our other option was mid-November. Can you tell we are trying to work around football season?

Thanks for any advice.

Crowds will definitely be light, but it will be brutally hot; I mean really hot. But, if that doesn't bother you, it's a great time to go. Waterparks will be extremely appreciated then. lol. Might rain often. We are going to try first week in December this year; hopefully it won't be cold. I have never gone in November, but from what I have read on these boards, that's another great time to go. Either way, you'll have a blast.

I used to go at that time (Sept. 6th) several years ago, as a combination birthday celebration and to attend the Disneyana convention. The first few years were fairly uncrowded but as of about 2 years ago it was A LOT more crowded. It does rain quite a bit too, as previously mentioned.

I was at WDW just last November around Veteran's Day and the weather was plenty warm enough for swimming. It was still fairly hot, a bit humid but no rain at all. Crowds were reasonable - it wasn't exactly empty but the waits weren't very long. I thought only the parades were where you could really notice and/or be annoyed by the crowding. Well, except for Peter Pan's Flight which turned out to be about a 1 1/2 hour wait (get a Fastpass for this one unless there is NO ONE in line - it's a deceptive, twisty line that winds nearly around the building and you don't notice how long it is until you've already waited so long that it seems you've invested too much to leave and you figure you'll be moving along soon but then you turn ANOTHER corner...but I digress:crazy: )

I thought November was a pretty good time to go, although my choice would be to go in early December, when the decorations are up for the holidays. The weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas are crowded but the weeks between are generally not too busy.

September is the time we usually go to WDW. We love this time of the year. If you stay on site and take advantage of early entry, you can miss a lot of crowds. It can be very humid! So early entry helps you beat the worst part of the heat and lets you enjoy a break at the pool during the hottest part of the day. It does often rain, but only during hurricane Floyde did we ever miss out on anything because of rain. Generally, the rain is short lived. But if you need a stroller for small children take a cover so that they don't end up with a wet seat.
We went in May this year, the crowds were much worse than September. We were suppose to go back this Sept. but had to change to late July. I have a feeling that all of our future trips will be in September because we so do not like crowds!!

We have gone before in Sept and it was really HOT & HUMID!!!! We spent a lot of time in the pool. We also had a HUGE rainstorm one day. I have never gotten so wet, so fast before!

This past Nov. we went for Thanksgiving and it was very nice. The kids swam most of the days since the pools are all heated. The weather was very pleasant. We would definately go in Nov. again.
