Disney in December

We are planning a trip December 16-23rd and I was wondering if any of you who have returned from a December trip could tell me how crowded it was. We went last year in June and it was pretty crowded. I am hoping the December crowds stay down until Christmas, can you tell me if I am right or wrong?

Hi! We went this Christmas 17 - 31st. The first week was wonderful - enough people to have a lovely atmosphere but never too busy. We arrived at opening times and did our 3-4 'must do's' in the first hour or so with fast passes for later. We were really glad we did all we wanted to that week because week 2 was SO busy! We still had a wonderful time but didn't get nearly as much done as the previous week. Christmas at Disney was so lovely!

The crowds got a little worse the closer we got to X-mas. Didn't really encounter any problems doing what we wanted and the crowd level actually seemed lower than when we were there end of April. Going back Dec 17-24 this year, may stay to 25th if need be for airline tickets but know that we will have done whatever we most cared about earlier in the week.

It won't be anything like June. Much better. Crowds pick up closer to Christmas, but not that much. The really big crowds come on the 25th and every day after. We were there last year on the 18th to 23rd. Very nice. Had to use FP for some of the popular rides, but most of the other rides were less than 25 minutes. The year before was better as far as crowds, but Christmas fell during the week that year and last year fell on a weekend. Not sure if that was the reason for higher crowds in 2004 or not. Still nothing like June. The weather also helps. Heat and crowds just aren't the best combination. Nice weather and a little crowded I can stand.
