We are going in early December for our 1st family trip to WDW. We usually take our family photo around this time for our Christmas cards and decided we would take a photo in Disney this year. We have found cute stocking hats to wear as well :-)

Does anyone have recommendations of the best spot to have a Christmas photo taken at any of the Disney parks? Has anyone been in December and had a setup for Christmas type photos with characters or Santa? Would love tips on capturing our magical moment and sharing it with friends and family.

Ooooh- bumping this as we are going in early Dec and thought of that too!

There are so many great places for photos both in the parks as well as the resorts! All of the parks and resorts have decorated trees. We thought the Grand Floridian was especially beautiful at Christmas time, plus they have the lifesize gingerbread house! The Wilderness Lodge is my other favorite! I am sure you will not have any trouble finding a spot for a family photo! :sunny:

Thanks for the info. I haven't been to Disney at Christmas time since I was a kid and I don't remember the decorations! We are so excited to get in the holiday spirit while we are there. I may have to search for a couple of days for that "perfect" spot instead of every hour telling my kids, ok, put your hats on again and smile :furious: However, I love taking photos and may just have to buy another memory card for my camera!

At AK we have had pictures taken with Goofy-he was wearing a santa hat and they had giant candy canes in the picture too.

I forgot to ask and thought this might be the best place to ask it. We are clueless about what to expect for our December trip and I know the family is going to limit the amount of stuff I can take - I'm the detail person of the family.... anyway, can anyone also tell me what we can expect as far as the weather in December? Will we be able to wear shorts, etc during the day and then rely on a sweatshirt at nights or are we going to need to bundle up the entire time? I saw some photos where people were wearing heavy coats and gloves!! Also, is it warm enough to go swimming during the day? I live in VA and we are dealing with snow at this time of the year!

Hey, we are going the 1st week in Dec. too. I never thought of using one of the pictures for our Christmas card. You guys are so smart around here.

Main St In MK is great after they turn on lights, around twlight, also have Sante in Downtown Disney. Great time to go, no crowds. will be there from 11/25 to 12/2
