Disney in Branson MO?

When I was at WDW this past August, I overheard some people talking about a friend of theirs who owns a hotel in Branson MO. They told them that Disney had bought a large amount of land in Branson. ANyone else hear something about this?

It was first reported on the Dis last April (2007) I believe.
After much disscussion most believe the Disney Theme Park proposal in Branson was a hoax.

Also, Disney themselves recently announced publicly that all of those rumors about a new park in x state (Texas has often been mentioned too) are totally false. Disney is not planning a new theme park anywhere in the US right now.
