I've never done a trip report before, but I love reading them! So here is my first....
Pre-Trip Report for Disney World
February 28 – March 4 2012

I love going to Disney World and I've gotten my best friend, Sara, hooked on it as well. We usually go once a year, but due to lack of money and busy schedules we haven't been able to go the past 2 years.
We were hanging out New Year's Eve, watching Dick Clark on ABC, when we saw the commercial about the special announcement from Disney Parks. I was so excited about that, I no longer cared to see the ball drop. I wanted to see the announcement!
After the announcement, I was sortof bummed. I was hoping it would be a year long special. I was sad it was only going to happen one day. I wanted to go to Disney World for 24 hours!
Sara, the best friend that she is, said well, why not?
I was like are you kidding?! When I plan to go to Disney, I usually start my plans at least 6 months in advance! If we did this, we would only have 2 months! To me (a mega planner) that's like saying “We're going to Disney World tomorrow. Start packing!”
I went nuts. I was like there is no way, but I started immediately. I ran to the computer and started researching resort and ticket prices. I emailed my travel agent, telling her about our crazy idea, and asking her what we could do. She emailed me back (once everything was open again) and gave me a great price at All Star Music. I told Sara and we were in!
I wanted to share some of our Disney magic with someone else, too. So, I asked our friend Amy if she would like to come. She couldn't get that week off, so she said no. Then I asked my cousin, Diana. She said that she would probably be able to come!
I was totally excited! Diana has only been to Disney once and that was way back in 2006. It was during Thanksgiving and the parks were super crowded. I'm hoping it won't be so bad this time, and she'll actually get to see more of the parks...although not much more because we'll only be in them for 24...(almost) hours!! Speaking of 24 hours...I didn't actually tell Diana that we'd be going to the parks for almost a full 24 hours on our first day. I think I'm going to let that be a surprise. I can just imagine the conversation now. It will go something like this...(sometime around 3am)
Diana: Hey guys, when are we going back to the hotel?
Me: When the park closes.
Diana: What time is that?
Sara: 6
Diana: 6?...6 AM?!?!?!
Me (with a wonderfully enthusiastic evil grin): Yep
Diana (to Sara): Is she crazy?
Sara: Yes. Yes, she is.
Me: (as I'm dragging them onto Pirates, and Haunted Mansion for the 10th time) Muahahahahahaha!
Ok so I'm not that bad. But I have planned out our entire day at the parks. Hoping to maximize our time and get the good things done.
My plan is to wake up early on the 29th, eat breakfast at the resort, and be at Animal Kingdom in time for park opening. There are only 3 rides there that we really want to do...Everest, Dinosaur, and Kilimanjaro Safari. We should be out of there within 2 hours hopefully and then on to Epcot. Epcot has more rides we want to do, so we'll go on those depending on wait times and direction we feel like walking. We want to do Spaceship Earth, Test Track, Gran Fiesta Tour, Maelstrom, Imagination with Figment, Soarin', and Living with the Land....(maybe Nemo if we have time) After Epcot, we'll go to Hollywood Studios. There we'll do Great Movie Ride, Toy Story, and the Muppets. We might check out Lights Motors Action if there's time. Sara wants to ride Tower of Terror and Rockin Roller Coaster.
I usually get in line for Fantasmic while she rides those. Diana says she doesn't like “big” rides, but the last time she was at Disney, and we only got to ride “small” rides, she was disappointed. I'm not sure whether she'll ride with Sara or wait for Fantasmic with me.
After Fantasmic, the plan is to attempt to walk over to Epcot so we can see Illuminations.
I figure walking will be the quickest way to where we want to go. We like to watch Illuminations from an area near France and the UK. Getting into Epcot by the International Gateway will take us right where we want to be!
After Epcot, we'll head on to Magic Kingdom to spend the rest of our 24...ok, 21 hours. It's my favorite park, so I'm really excited to spend the majority of our time there! I just wish my favorite ride weren't going to be out of commission during our trip. I could ride Thunder Mountain all night long!
But there will be plenty of other things to do. I want to try a dole whip since I've been hearing such good things about it on here. It would be nice if the CM would let me have a sample before deciding whether to get the pineapple soft serve or do a rootbeer float.
We're planning on going back to the hotel and SLEEPING as long as possible Thursday. If we get up in time we might go to Downtown Disney, or explore the hotel some. We've never stayed at any of the All Stars before, only Pop Century. So it will be fun to explore!
Friday morning we're going to wake up and hop in the car and take a nice little drive down I-4 to the “other” Orlando park known as Islands of Adventure.
I have never in my life felt the need to go to those parks until now. I am a HUGE fan of Harry Potter and I just have to go and see that!
This will be yet another surprise for my cousin. She doesn't know that we're going there. She will probably wonder why we're getting in the car instead of on the bus. I'm hoping to keep her in suspense until just as we're going into the park. We've been to City Walk before, so maybe she'll think we're just going there...although it will be a bit early for shopping!
I'm hoping our time in Islands of Adventure will make up for any problems caused by my running Diana and Sara around all 4 Disney parks in (almost) 24 hours!
I'm super excited about seeing Harry Potter world, but it will never ever come close to Disney! Disney World IS my happy place!
Saturday, I'm planning a fun day to do Disney things, just not in the parks. We want to eat at Beaches N Cream and walk around the Boardwalk. Then we'll go play mini golf at both Fantasia Gardens and Winter Summerland! Hoping to do some shopping and eat dinner at Planet Hollywood in Downtown Disney, too.
We are so ready to go! Sara and I have started a countdown....only 11 more days!!!

Time is flying....only 36 hours until we leave!! I'm SUPER excited and keep seeing hidden mickeys EVERYWHERE!! Everything has reminded me of Disney this weekend. I'm ready to go!!
Because Sara and Diana would probably kill me for posting their pictures on here, I've found Disney characters that sortof look like us and I will use them to represent us for the time being.
