Greetings DISers!

On a WDW trip in 2006 we were very excited to find Disney hockey jerseys depitcing fictional teams of various characters that were available in sizes ranging from very small kids to very large adults. As DS was starting into hockey at that time we started a tradition of picking up a jersey on each trip (only 2 since then). DS has worn them for hockey practice and wears them as tops now.

I started playing hockey again after a long break and picked one up for myself on a family trip to the world in January 2008 but I was unable to find them at any of the WDW shops on a June 2008 solo trip (and I shopped around a lot for them including ESPN at DTD which usually has many different jerseys to choose from).

Does anyone here know what Disney has as their current hockey jersey offereings? These appear to be "park-only" items that are not available on-line and my next trip isn't likely to happen until July 2010. I do know of 2groups of friends going to the world in Jan 09 and Feb 09 and I would love to ask them to pick a couple of jerseys up for me while they are there. I have a light color but I need a dark jersey (my hockey group plays light vs. dark and the teams change weekly). In fact someone I play with already has a Pirates jersey, but again I could not find any in my size while I was there in June this year.

The price is great and the quality is excellent.

Any help (and photos, if you have them) would be really appreciated.

I was looking for some when I was there last week and only saw the Pirates jersey in the World of Disney store. Of course, they never have any goalie sized jerseys.

Huge hockey fan here. Jeremy, where/when did you guys pick up your jerseys in the world?

SoScary,

I got my WDW 2008 jersey at the ESPN store at DTD in Jan 2008. My DS jerseys, Pulto Devil Dogs and Pluto's Icehounds, we picked up at the World of Disney in Jan 06 and Jan 08 respectively.

Padstack,

My WDW 2008 jersey is an XL, which is quite big on me. I guessed that it would fit better over my gear, but it is quite long (I'm 5'8"). A L would have been much better. I would think an XXL would fit a goalie just fine, unless you are very tall.

Thanks^_^

ESPN store? I didn't know there was one at DTD. Do they by chance carry any other hockey merchandise or is it just the cutesy Disney stuff? This info is much appreciated, considering if they sell actual nhl jerseys or something I can be prepared :thumbsup2

When DH and I were there last month, we asked at Team Mickey's if they had a new Grumpy jersey. The CM told us that they weren't doing characters anymore for adults, and they only had the Pirates jersey for adults. DH was disappointed, since he's only interested in the Grumpy ones, but he did point out it would save him money in the future.

If you happen to visit any of the Disney outlets in the Orlando area, you may be able to find the jerseys there. DH has gotten all 3 of his jerseys at outlets, at a cost of 20-something dollars each vs. 50-something at DTD.

Go Preds!

Thanks^_^

Yeah, I refer to it as the ESPN store - I beleive it is actually called the Team Mickey Athletic Club. They do carry some actual NHL jerseys (at market price$$). The best selection of NHL jerseys at WDW is at EPCOT in the Canada pavillion. There, you can guarantee you'll find a Sens jersey...

*cough*gosens*cough* :rolleyes1

Too bad Disney is discontinuting these jerseys. Thanks for the tip on the outlets - I'll keep that in mind. In the mean time, looks like it's back to ebay...

I'm disappointed as well. My wife has a Grumpy one and I have a Chernabog one and we constantly were looking to add to the collection. I wonder if this policy is also true on the West Coast.......

Awesome. Thanks very much for the info!:upsidedow Market price=scary. Oh well, look out Canada Pavillion! I'll have some extra $$$ saved up by then.

I like the Sens too-we just lost our former captain to them^_^' Geez, I wish we had him back

I am not sure if you will see this message. I visited in Aug 2008 and found a Jersey with all of the Characters sticking out of the 2008 logo. Mickey, Donald, Goofie and Pluto (I believe). We go to hockey games all the time and I finally saw a 2007 (20 on top with characters and 07 on bottom also with characters) jersey from Disney. We looked at each other and said we loved each others's Jerseys! Been going to the same games all season, but 1st time we'd spotted each other.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know what I find in Aug of 08. We're going back in a week (Agu 09) and my son already his his gift card for his birthday spent - yep! He's getting an '09 Jeresey. I'll have to find the sports store (I got mine in a Main St shop I believe) and see what else they have. Our CHL team will no longer be here next year, they're hoping for AHL.
