I loved hearing Mark Matheis speak on the cruise. I had read Michael Barrier's book "The Animated Man: a life of Walt Disney", and Mark really brought that book to life. I could have listened to him speak all day, but I needed to get back to my family. I understand that we can ask more questions of him during the webinar, and I plan on signing up. Anyone else from the cruise going to be there?

Dave, I will agree with you. I had tears in my eyes several times while Mark was telling some of the Disney stories. I love, love, love hearing stories about Walt Disney and the ideas and decisions that were made along the way to bring us the parks.

Folks, Mark is great. I highly recommend the webinar!!

I'll "see" you there Kathy.

Another fan of Mark here! He was amazing. I loved hearing his stories - what a great presenter!!! To hear him speak is totally worth the $$$. Anyone who is sitting on the fence about participating -- DO IT! You will not regret it.

We really enjoyed Mark's talk. Very interesting indeed. I especially love reading/hearing about the early days of WDW and the construction pictures were priceless. It was hard to believe that the park actually did get finished on time from seeing those pic's of only a few months before opening.

I'm looking forward to hearing more from Mark in the future DI presentations.

Jeff, that was my favorite part too. I knew a lot of the Walt Disney biography stuff from the book I read. It was really cool to see the pictures of park construction. He talked about Disneyland, the MK, and EPCoT. I'd like to hear about the other parks too - DHS and AK as well as the international expansion.

I have to agree that he was amazing. The time just flew by and I could have listened to him a lot longer. The pictures were amazing and it is incredible that they opened in time. The webinar will be a great way to see him again.

You know, of the early WDW stuff my real regret now is that I wasn't into Disney then. That was at the time when Disney wasn't "cool" and I was otherwise occupied by the Army and then my first real-world job. I didn't re-kindle my love for Disney until the latter part of the 70's.

I didn't get into Disney until 1995. I could kick myself now. I do remember watching his TV show though when we was talking about the parks.

While at DTD I spotted a couple of new (to me) books about imagineering the parks that looked interesting. A bit too expensive for an impulse buy, but I'm giving it some more consideration.

Perhaps if I subscribe to the webcast instead...

Check out half.com for some of the books, some of them are pretty pricey, but I've gotten several at half.com at really good prices. I just got the very large and really nice Pixar book (history of Pixar) with Buzz Lightyear on the cover...it's $75 dollars, but I got it from half.com for $23! Brand new!

I'm confused as to how the webinar works? John said it is not streaming from your computer, he said you need a phone to hear the audio, so is it more like a conference call?

The visual content will be streamed through your PC. The audio is streamed via the phone (I understand this has to do with sound quality, etc).

The audio will be one way - you can only listen. It is my understanding that the visual part on the PC will be interative (this is something new so I'm not 100% sure how this works).

We experienced most of the content during his presentation on the cruise and I thought it was great. The feedback we got was really good and most people said they wish he could speak longer. The stories and the way he tied them to Walt's experiences was done extremely well.

Shoot, I just found out Maggie has a band concert Monday 7-8:30p. I won't be able to attend the webinar. I'm really glad I could see Mark on the cruise. John and everyone thanks for organizing this. I hope it's the first of many.

the content of the presentation were stories that you have only heard parts of before. He brought a more complete story telling and filled in the background details. this would be the kind of presentation that would be excellent as part of One Man's Dream.

What and where can I see/hear the webinar? I haven't heard of this before.

there's a sticky at the top of the board to register. It's this Monday 5/18 from 7:30-8:30p.

Enjoy the webinar everyone. I'm waiting for Maggie's concert to start.
