Can anyone give me your opinion of Disney Hilton Head resort? We would like to use our vacation points and drive there this summer but I want to make sure there will be enough for a 16 year old and a 3 year to do. Thanks

You may want to ask this same question over on the DVC board -- You'll get plenty of responses there;)

Sorry I can't really comment, I'm a DVC member but have yet to try out HHI resort but over there you'll find plenty of members who have as well as people who's home resort is HHI.

I'd bump this thread myself but I have yet to figure out how:scratchin

In any case, HTH's. I'm sure you'll get lots of responses;)

I'll ditto the; post the same question on the DVC board but I can help on Disney's HHI. We're DVC members and that is our home resort -- since 1997, and we've been there probably 9/10 different times in that span (another this August as well).

HHI is a totally different vacation than when we visit WDW. The main activities are centered around the beach or the pool(s). A typical day for us is wake up whenever (usually by 8/8:30), Dad (me) cooks breakfast, take a bike ride for awhile, head to the beach by 10:30 or so, stay on the beach until late lunch, either eat at the beach house or whatever we've packed, spend time at the beach house pool (usually activities going on throughout the day), head back down to our spot on the beach, stay until 3/4pm then head back over to the pool at the resort. I may head in around 4:30 to get dinner going or we all head in to clean up for a night out which could be dinner, mini-golf, a visit to the outlets or shops, hang out at the Salty Dog, etc.

Our kids, now 14, 12, 6 and 5 have all at times participated in the various kids activities and have loved them. The two older ones have been doing the teen night outs (usually pizza and a movie or mini-golf) and the little ones usually do a few of the craft activities.

HHI is also the polar opposite of Myrtle Beach or a Daytona Beach. Lots of shops, family restaurants, and quiet activies like mini-golf, movies, etc. No Planet Hollywood, Hard Rock or similar places -- it's very laid back, which is why we made it our home resort. We hit HHI once a year and WDW about once every 15 months. We also sometimes stay Sunday through Thursday then do 2/3 nights at WDW (just 5 hours away).

Hope this helps -- if you have more specific questions, let me know.

Just to add that we love the resort and the island. If you are planning for July, August, it is very busy at Disney HHI resort. We have some HHI dvc points and try to book at 11 months out to get the time and accomodations we want. I don't know if avaialablility is different when just paying for accomodations. Can't say enough about this resort. It really is vacation! We do WDW because we love it but we go to HHI resort to relax!
