We stayed at Disney HH for the first time this summer (2 bedroom). We LOVED everything about it except one major complaint. The sofa in the main living area was absolutely horrible. Not only was it uncomfortable but it tilted forward so you would slide off of it. We called maintenance to fix it as we thought it was broken but they said that's how these sofas are - and they are fairly new! Anyone else have this problem?

yes - the sofa's there are horrible. the cushions are slippery & slanted.

We love HH but the furniture in not comfortable at all. The furniture is designed for longevity in that climate and not comfort.

We called it the "Ejecto-couch" because we always felt like we were about to be launched off it. Yes, a fairly new "enhancement".

Love HHI, but HATE that couch!! We always felt like we were sliding off and constantly fixing the cushions.

Glad to know this info. I was planning on taking a mini vacation down there at the HH.

I just found a picture of the famous couch. Doesn't look as tilted as it really is-

Has anyone ever let HH management (or someone else in Disney management) know about this? I'm going to make a phone call to the manager at the HH resort...maybe if others did too, they would make a change.

We did let the front desk staff know of our feelings. At that time, they let us know that it wasn't the resort's decision to purchase those couches and they also disliked them! They encouraged people to voice their complaints to the members satisfaction team because they'd love to see a change as much as we would.

I can't say for sure whether HHI's resort management could be helpful in this situation but member's can & should always note their concerns with DVC Member's Satisfaction team but it is very unlikely these sofas will be changed until next refurbishment which if I recall will be quite a ways off.

It is annoying but a small inconvenience, outweighed by far by the number of things we love about HHI :thumbsup2

We bring along a cotton quilted comforter to cover it up with and to sit on. Actually was shopping over at Belk and found the blanket on sale for under $20. It made it much more comfy and inviting. If it's not covered we don't really like to sit on it as it's so slidy and stiff.

We stayed last summer and found the same exact thing. I always felt like I was falling forward off of the thing. We watched TV in the bedroom at night just to avoid the couch.

Yep. They may be using the same company at OKW, (non refurbed room). Same feel to the couches.
We take the back cushions off so that we sit further back on the couch and don't feel like we're falling off. Not sure which way is more uncomfortable though. It's a major design flaw.

There are sofas in the rooms?!:!?!??!!

We rarely sit IN the room, we mostly sit on the deck/balcony. Much better view.
