Disney helpline and MDE

This evening I have spent 40 minutes on the phone to the Disney helpline trying to get my reservation linked to my MDE account. I spoke to several very friendly, polite and helpful CMs who couldn't find my details anywhere but eventually after lots of going back and forwards with additional questions they told me they had found my reservation and that I should be able to link it to my account in 2-3 days. Does this sound reasonable or do you think it is likely that I will still have the same problem and end up having to phone back?

I had the same issue as I booked back in April 2014! Lots of people were saying they'd linked and I left it about 6-8 weeks and then rang them - the CM wasn't very helpful tbh but said she'd pass it on. I had visions of having to call back, but to my surprise, I got a phonecall the next day from another, very helpful CM, who promised I would be linked by that evening - and I was! So here's hoping it will be done.

There was talk about OKW and SSR taking longer to link as they are DVC properties and so won't link until 10 months out or so (which clearly isn't an issue for you anymore), but I don't think this was true as many people could link before that.

Hope you get it sorted and you don't have to call again :wizard:.

thanks - I booked back in June and had read about OKW taking a while to link so didn't worry too much that it wouldn't link then other things took over and I hadn't really thought about the holiday at all until we got to new year. Now I am just desperate to see my booking in black and white. :goodvibes

who did you book with ?
if you booked with the uk site, you neee to send them an email requesting an alternate booking reference, they will send you an 8 digits ref

calling the us reservation is not efficient for uk bookings

Hi, I was waiting patiently but we are going this August so we are now much less than 10 months away and it still won't link. How do I email the UK site. I tried emailing the support address on the website but they came back to me and told me I needed to phone - I phoned the number they gave me which is the same as the one on my UK invoice.

I couldn't resist trying again this afternoon but it wouldn't link but to be fair they did say 2-3 days. If it hasn't linked by Friday afternoon I will have to try calling again.
 
Hi, it is now 3 days since my call and my booking still won't link. I'm sure I'm wrong but it makes me feel a bit like they never did find my booking and just told me that to get me off the phone.

I will give it until tomorrow and then phone back. I know my reservation must be there somewhere because when I go to the link for paying your balance it takes me to the UK site that you are directed to when you book and my confirmation number brings up my reservation. I told them that on the helpline on Monday but it didn't seem to help.

Has anyone got any idea what I can do/say to help them get my reservation linked to MDE. I know I have a little while yet but my ADR date is 17th Feb and need this sorted ready for then.

Yikes - sorry to hear it's not done yet. I think I just hit lucky when I rang (although the first CM was very grumpy!). It is frustrating. I pondered on whether to book with another operator (in the end it was cheaper doing everything DIY and OKW isn't available with that many agents as I'm sure you know), but the thing that put me off was the stories you hear about things not linking and problems getting FPs etc. You don't expect those issues with Disney! :mad:

Really hope it's sorted for you soon.

The Uk helpline were really helpful and my reservation is now showing in my MDE account. :banana::cool1::banana:
but.... my tickets and dining plan booked as part of the package are not showing - is this usual?
 
tickets might take a while to show up

(they're in their own section on "my reservation" page)

So.... have you changed the colour of your magic band yet... and then.... changed it again - it's about the only thing you can do right now :rotfl: But it's great :thumbsup2:lmao:.

Yes I've changed the colour of mine - I've been good and stuck with the same colour but I've had to change the kids' :rotfl2:
 
Well good news - I emailed back the very helpful UK email address and all our park tickets are now showing too. :goodvibes
