BUT... if you live in QC you cannot register to receive updates (QC is not a choice for your province). Oversight, language issue, or advertising to kids issue? Any guesses?

Could be the Timeshare regulations. I know you cannot buy from Disney from several areas you have to be in Florida at the time.

yes but apparently only 1 wing. The other is just regular hotel rooms.

You can probably sign up, using your real address & postal code but putting in Ontario as your province. Often the mail will get to the door because the post office mainly uses the postal code! Others have done this to get the DVC info from Disney.

I had to sign up for the DVC holiday web cast with my parent's address in OH to get the Disney print. Figured I could do the same now, but wanted to use Canada if possible. Using Ontario is not a bad option either... thanks.

It IS a DVC resort. And I can tell you from experience that since it's considered real-estate, and because of Quebec laws being what they are, you cannot purchase it unless you are in the state it is in. My mother is a DVC member at the Beach Club Villas and had to buy while in Florida. And when she wanted to add-on, she had to go down IN PERSON, it could not be done over the phone.

I'm guessing for the Hawaii resort, you'll need to be IN Hawaii to purchase points for it ( if you're from Quebec like we are ).


Oddly enough, this rule does NOT apply to resales. we were able to add-on through resale via EMAIL oddly enough.

My best guess is advertising issues - translation and such. Imperative that it would be in both French and English.

Quebec provincial laws... the only provinces in Canada that allow DVC to send promo items, etc are Ontario and if I recall correctly Alberta as of a few months ago. I am a DVC member and my guide can't even contact me with current deals; etc. Believe me DVC would love to be able to get to you. They aren't holding back by their choice.

We live in QC, but are here as official visitors and diplomats from the US... guessing there is no drop-down menu to allow that explanation and get the e-mails!

Think I will go the "my parents' address" route and see how it all goes. We MIGHT consider DVC in Hawaii (the only one DH will even discuss) but will likely only "hotel" it and buy in Bromont. Too bad Disney is not thinking of a Cape Cod beach resort, I would totally be there!
