Disney have raised ticket prices, will Universal follow suit?

So Disney have raised ticket prices today, are Universal likely to do the same fairly imminently?

Following, I'm planning to get AP's this year and not sure if I need to go ahead a purchase. We probably won't go until the Fall but if I can save 10% (~what Disney raised their prices) I'm all for buying in advance.

Usually that is a given

One park’s actions is usually followed by the others eventually

A few years increases did not happen until many, many, months later

Exactly the same situation.
It’s still okay to buy an AP now but not pick it up for use until we’re there in October though, isn’t it?

I need to correct what I said earlier

There have been times that UO did not increase ticket prices after Disney raised prices

Thanks for the replies.
Decided to take the plunge, was planning on buying it in a couple of months anyway...

Follow up question... says pickup is at the park ticket windows, but I seem to recall I was able to do it at the Hard Rock Hotel last time, does anyone know if that’s still an option?

I stay at RP and pick my tickets up at their lobby attractions desk

They will ask for your order number
If you didn’t make note of it, they will still be able to find it and print off your tickets

I went to Sam's trying to compare AP's but I couldn't find them, has Sam's stopped selling them?

I see the tickets:
472871

They have AP's for FL residents only - Link
472872

Where can you buy the seasonal AP (non-Florida resident) in advance? Is it only on the Universal website itself? Looks like UT only sells resident passes and park tickets.
And are pre-purchased APs able to be picked up at the resort (RP) or were people referring to regular park tickets?

I just renewed my preferred pass in December. I must say now I think I got quite the bargain. They will probably raise it. But at least Universal offers you additional months on occasion and a better discounts at the parks and hotels. Plus there are Days when Universal is still slow.

I remember this came up in conversation a few times last year and there were not increases each time Disney increased their prices and they did it more than once last year. For those curious about APs, we obviously do not have an answer if they'll increase, or not. However, I will say that last year around the time Disney made a controversy by increasing their AP prices Universal didn't. I waited a few months until my AP with Disney was done and got the premiere pass at Universal. With the deal of having up to $75 off depending which pass you got on top of it I roughly got the pass for the same I was paying for my Gold AP with Disney (before the their increase).

In the past there has been times in which Universal would increase around the same time Disney does, but more often than not it doesn't happen since it (at least seems to me) that Disney increases their prices more often than Universal does.

In the past we were able to pick up our paid in full seasonal pass right at the hotel. At the time, we were told that if you are using the installment plan for the higher level passes (not available for seasonal pass) you need to pick it up at the park.
