disney grand california sale start 1-25-09 for founding members

Does anyone know how sales are going at VGC. I want to buy 175 points on March 25th and don't want to be shut out. I also asked my guide to set up a new contract for a June or July use year so I can get 2009 points. My use year at WDW is March and would not get 2009 points and I have to have them. I hope they still have developer points also.

Im sure they will. DVC for GCV will not be sold out until March 26. So, get ready. LOL. JW

Who knows:confused3 The rumors are that initially sales were brisk. I have heard that maybe a quarter of the points may be gone. I think that you will be OK. My own unscientific guess is that the points will sell out in April sometime.::yes::

Am I hearing rumors that the new incentive now includes a free DVC cruise for 4 in an OV room??????

I saw that too. Is it instead of DPs? OP didn't mention if it applied to VGC...
I think I'd rather have DPs as we are already going on a 7 day cruise in Oct...

How much is a 3 day cruise for four people worth? Probably a lot more than 100 DP's. I'm going to call my guide tomorrow to ask about this?

New members only on a referral. For the cruise, JW

So--I guess the cruise incentive won't be available then until after March 25th and then only to non-DVC members?

A member on another post states that they were offered the cruise incentive for purchasing a 150pt add on, I have yet to confirm with my guide....

Looks like I was wrong, it doesn't look like it will be available for us who buy into VGC. Unless I can do a cruise from CA!!!

It is available for add-ons at VGC. My guide confirmed it, and another member already got this deal. Just fly to Florida and you are good to go.

I wonder what the date restrictions are. My guide is still waiting to see if they will let me switch to the Cruise from DPs. I don't see how they could stop me. i just cancel this contract and order again. Right?

I don't understand--do we have to go to Florida to get the deal? Or do you mean since the cruises leave from Florida?

I am going to be very upset if this is available to Founding Member purchases, as I just re-arranged all my travel plans to accommodate the DPs and cancelled my March/April BWV trip (on regular points) to use the DPs instead at SSR!

That's pretty much my plan as well. If things go as planned, I will cancel my original add-on of 120 pts. and then switch to a new 125 pt. contract.

I'll be sure to post again after talking to my guide and let you all know how it goes...

I hope we can switch from DP to cruise as it will take care of 1 of the 3 cabins we have for Nov 15th. Anyone heard what dates are available for the cruises?

From what my guide said it sounds pretty open to me. No Holidays of Course and no Spring break, but other than that pretty open. Though I imagine this will be a popular incentive and cabins will start to fill up soon.

After thinking about it we have decided to stick with our DP's and get nights at the Grand Californian instead. We'd like to maybe try a cruise someday but to be honest I"m not a big fan of the concept for multiple reasons. We've got enough cool trips planned for 2009 and 2010 and so we'll take our blessings.

If we did want the cruise though we'd totally "threaten" to excercise our 10 day cancel period. Hppefully they would just do the switch and avoid all the hassle for themselves.

I definitely did not think the incentives would change during the founding period. But I guess there are other resorts they need to sell and so the big picture prevailded.
