I would have loved to have bought more points with the intention of selling them if I didn't need them later. But I'm just trying to be VERY happy that I get to buy at all. I gave a credit card number to my guide and she is setting up the paperwork for the opening of sales, but I'm curious have any of you received a point chart from your guides. Mine read me some points (she claimed her copy wasn't clear enough to fax) and they matched what was on DVCnews and what was up briefly on the member website. I'm just curious if anyone has one they can hold in their hands.

Points charts are back up on the member site. (and I did print one out before it got pulled off the member site--haven't checked to see if anything's changed yet)

I just got off the phone with my sales rep and she has me all set to go for 100 points on Sunday. It's all I could swing right now after buying 160 at AKV three months ago. Anyway, she said they are giving 2 Premium AP's if you purchase 220 points. That's almost an $800 gift! And she also said the points charts are up again and correct. YEAH!

We are such a sharing bunch. Can't wait for our first stay in the Villas! I had a quick chat with my guide yesterday (my kids decided to scream and cry as soon as I answered the phone). I told her we were interested in 100 pts and that I'd call her Sunday or Monday. She responded "along with hundreds of others. We are very busy!". I want to get it done so I can make plans with the matching DPs. We are staying at GCH in May. I wanted to stay Fri night but didn't have enough points, thought about putting these new DPs toward that. Since my husband and I will have APs from our initial SSR purchase, I think I'm going to plan another vacation in the summer and possibly pay cash for the May weekend night or stay in another hotel.

After next week we can start a new thread discussing when we plan to book our first trip home!

But the DP's have to be used by October 3 at SSR--and I'd already planned (and booked) a vacation in March and again at the end of October. So I'm looking into banking for an RCI exchange. That would give me two years to use them. Sigh. I wish DVC would give us longer (at least a year) to use the DP's--but I guess you can't have everything!

Yes, you're right--can be used for DLR hotels too. I just feel like it's such a waste to use them there because the points requirements are so high--but that may be what I end up doing. (But I've got 500 of the suckers to use by October 3!) So I think I may end up "banking" some or all for an RCI vacation in any event. I couldn't use them for the March/April vacation (because that's at BWV), and the SSR vacation in October is too late. I really don't want to go any earlier because of hurricane season. And forget over the summer!!!! I don't do heat.

Are any of you feeling bad that we're currently really happy while so many people are upset over on the points change thread?

Congrats to those of you who are the first of the first to buy in to VGC! Cheryl and Linda-- I'm so happy for you (not to mention totally jealous!) Cheryl -- can you use those developer points on a DCL cruise? You could add a 4 day trip onto your March vacation?

I'm one that is totally bummed about the 'minimum buy-in', although I haven't heard anything definite from my guide yet. I'm glad I read these boards, so I have an idea of what is happening. Still, I'm really happy for those that are buying in. And I'm thrilled to hear that there are AP's available for some of you, and developer points. I hope you all get lots of fabulous perks, and maybe someday I can join you in VGC ownership.
