disney grand california sale start 1-25-09 for founding members

We did a point add to AKV and got all the paperwork in the mail today, in our paperwork is the chart to GCV called "preopening 2009 points Chart" and it is the same exact on DVC news.

Looking forward on deciding how many points we will add on, on the 25th!

I unexpectedly received a DVC package in the mail today that contained the latest Dreams book. I though for sure it would have the GCV point charts, but it didn't. It only contained BLT and AKV. I'm still now sure why my DL guide sent it to me...

Looks like calculating based of the DVCnews chart will be accurate.

I was so excited when I came home to a FedEx package only to open it and find the lastest Dreams book without the VGC point chart. Such a let down! :crazy2: :sad2:

Did anyone else notice that this package is gear for people who are interested in purchasing DVC and not already an owner? How much did DVC waste on this one?

I didn't take a lot of time looking through the Dreams book but didn't see ANY point charts.

I am thinking of calling my guide with a Credit Card number to start the process for two 100 point contracts....Or should I be in such a hurry? The property won't be ready for another 10 or 11 months and what do I gain by being one of the first in. If sales are slower than what I think they will be maybe Disney will offer better incentives in a month or two. But I want those points!!!! I can't decide.

One reason to purchase early is because the matching 200 Developer Points will probably need to be used prior to Oct 3, 2009.

Buying early will give you additional time to use the points.

May not be an issue for you however, for me I used my matching 160 Developer points to reserve 6 individual week nights at the 3 DLR hotels during off-season periods. I was able to get all preferred views and one concierge view by going off-season.

Just something to consider.

Good Luck.

I am buying right away ONLY because the only time I can use those developer points is in early Feb. Therefore I'm also going to have everything set up so the paperwork can be run early next week. If I didn't have this constraint then I'd probably be buying around March 20th. I doubt that the incentives will change during the Founding members' period though. I paid a high price to get the first crack at this and so I wouldn't have wanted to wait until I was "competing" against other DVC members or companies who wanted to buy 1000 points. However in this economy I doubt that would have been much of an issue anyway.

If the incentives improve considerably over time then I'm going to be an unhappy camper.

I just hope that any new incentives are retroactive:worried: Well here goes, I'm dialing right now.::yes:: Good bye money:wave2: Hello magical happinesspixiedust:

Critical financial analysis aside, a DVC purchase is very much an emotional and lifestyle decision. And a fruitful one that has tangible value IMHO. LIfe is short.

I couldn't agree more. Especially when when you kids or grandkids to share with.:goodvibes

3 days until sales start... is there an officail point chart yet?

I believe the one I posted is correct. Others have reported getting the same chart / values from their Guide.

I think some Guides are jumping the gun a bit on releasing info. From what I have been told, DVC views Sunday as the date that sales officially begin and info can be freely released to those who inquire.

...does anyone have any official word from their guide as to the required minimum purchase for an add on? Looking to get 110 points but if possible would like them in two contracts.
Anything official?? Anyone??

I don't know if this qualifies as official but I can tell you that I asked my guide about buying around 150 pts and whether I could do one 100 pt contract and one 50 pointer and was told no. That each contract must be a minimum of 100 points. Others have reported the same thing. I don't think there have been conflicting reports on that within the past 5 days or so.

Sounds official to me..okaydokay...

Stop posting and call already!!!pixiedust:

OK, OK. Are you related to my wife? Something in your tone sounds strangely familiar. I called and my guide is setting up the contracts for Sunday.:cool1: Now I just have to figure out how to use those DPs by Oct 3rd. My guide says that if deposit into RCI they will be good for a couple of years.:scratchin

Sounds offical to me..okaydokay...

I told my guide that I would buy more points if I could get smaller contracts. I think 250 total would do me just right, but if 250 ends up being a tad too much I don't want to have to drop either a 100 or 150 point contract. She said she would double check to get the "final" word on Sunday and let me know. So the bottom line is I think the 100 point minimum is real but maybe Disney will change it's mind at the last minute.
