Disney Gives Me the Warm Fuzzies. January 2010 PreTrip Report. Update 11/6 Pg. 79

I guess I'm being overly conservative...but I'd stay with Pop and hope for another trip later on with Marc? Maybe at a MOD? You don't spend that much time in the room so maybe it would be worth the savings?? IDK...I'm on a save a buck mode right now...so that's just me!! Good luck with your decision.... you're going to DISNEY!!!:yay:

Hmmmm, I just have to say that I really appreciated our moderate stay after a value....
The eating and grounds were really worth the extra charge. :goodvibes The room was a little nicer too.

I'd just go for it. If the difference in price meant that you had to go without electricity or food than I would say no but I'm assuming it just means you will have less spending money while in Disney right?

You already had a trip that wasn't as magical as you wished it had been. Why not upgrade when you know it's what you want?

You'll be sorry if you don't and life is too short for regrets like that.

Sorry you are battling back and forth with what to do on the resort situation. Lately, AP rates have been right around 40% off....if that helps you crunch some numbers.

I think you should do Riverside.... :goodvibes:

I think the 4/3 deal works out to be about a 43% savings, so close to the same as the AP rate, if that is what's released. I'd go POR, especially since you won't be going back with Marc in Nov. and its where you really want to stay. You're probably not going to get much save money advice over here, we're a bunch of enablers.

I think you're doing great trying to be calm and zen. I can imagine all the crazy ideas and thoughts you may have. I hope you and Jen decide the upgrade, becuase I think you both deserve it !
We do both deserve it....but I still haven't made a decision.

For some reason I'm thinking DHS.... am I hot or cold?
You are FREEZING.

Is that from the Carousel of Progress? :confused3

Ugh. It sucks waiting doesn't it? It's tough not being able to make your decision and of course it's all you can think of. :scared: Personally, I'd go with the mod but good luck hanging tough for Jen.
Ding Ding Ding! You are correct. It's from the Carousel of Progress.

You can see Kohn's through the window over the sink.

It does suck waiting. I think I am going to make a pro/con list.

Is it in the Great Movie Ride??
Nope. Good guess though!

I like your reasoning. I don't know though. Saving money is ALWAYS good. Who knows!

Hmmmm, I just have to say that I really appreciated our moderate stay after a value....
The eating and grounds were really worth the extra charge. :goodvibes The room was a little nicer too.
I think that is why we loved Wilderness Lodge so much because after staying at Pop for 4 nights it was so relaxing and peaceful.

Stay at Riverside -- you know you want to...;)

I am thinking the mystery picture is on the Streets of America at DHS.
Another good guess but no.

I'd just go for it. If the difference in price meant that you had to go without electricity or food than I would say no but I'm assuming it just means you will have less spending money while in Disney right?

No, I will still have electricity and food. I think the thing that is holding me back the most is that I have to pay for the 4/3 package 45 days out which is in November when Marc will be having his surgery. So I'm worried about money being a little tight. :headache:

I really want to do Riverside. I really do. UGH. I'm so confused.

Yes, you are a bunch of enablers. I keep telling myself I shouldn't feel guilty, especially as I am going to be working a seasonal job most likely for the holiday season (just waiting on the background check) but I guess feeling guilty is just in my personality. :confused3

Hey LL,

I've been thinking of you...but I've been MIA on the boards for the last 5 days...My entire family, Rabbit, Hatter, Alice and yours truly was struck by a stomach bug of some vile sort...nuff said...

Ooo...Disney enabling...I'm a great enabler...I say go for Riverside sister...You've got that great boat ride to DTD...it's very atmospheric...it ties into the new Disney movie the Princess and the Frog..., the food court gets really nice reviews, plus staying somewhere new puts a whole twist on the whole experience...
(Jen will love it...)

I am so Happy for you w/ the weight loss...slow and steady is the way to go:thumbsup2

Here's a fun Disney game...if you could take your favorite area or one of you favorite areas of a Disney park and spin it into a new park...what you it be look like?

ie...if you were able to take Liberty Square w/ the HM, the Hall of P and the shops and restaurants(Colombia Harbor House and LTT) and grow those ideas into an entire park/ -where would you put it-(could be outside of FL...:rolleyes1) and what kind of attractions would you have...rides...etc...restaurants...?

Hope your adjustment back to work is an easy one...

I vote POR as well...but I'm an enabler.

I hear you on timing of the 45 days....our payment date last year was

December 26th!

OUCH.

Staying somewhere new is always good. I just worry about the buses at POR when I'm solo. I DON'T KNOW. I am so confused. I'm really going to work on a Pro/Con list today. Usually that helps me. I do adore that POR would be themed to fit The Princess & The Frog! That is going on the Pro side!

Ohhh I like this game but you totally stole my answer! I think a Liberty Square park up here in New England would be wonderful with all the history we have up here. A theme park that was fun and educational! We could have a John Adams attraction. Speaking of which, have you finished watching it yet? :rolleyes1

Yes, we are alllllll enablers. I think the 45 days out is really scaring me to be honest. :scared1:

It's a tough call on the rooms. If your heart is really set on POR go for it, if the price is right. I know that as soon as I called and changed my ressie for BWI I just knew it was right. (Luckily my BFF doesn't care one way or another:rotfl:).

Of course if staying value, means you could possibly get another trip in with your hubby it's a tough call.

Hmmm. All in all that wasn't very helpful was it? :lmao:

Wow.... I am seriously behind on your PTR updates, plus I am nowhere near starting my TR. We had soccer games all weekend and more soccer this week plus misc after school activities.

I am excited that you extended your trip. Have you guys done KTTK tour yet? I definately recommend that. I still think you should go parasailing, because if you get pregnant you won't be able to go.

I feel certain that you will get a good AP at POR or POFQ. DH and I got a rate of $135 last December for a king-size bed. Even my AP rate at CSR this past June was $119. It's coming....not to worry.

I think the two of you would really like POFQ. I would try there first. Then you will be going from a bigger resort to a smaller one. OK - am I getting a little pushy with all these suggestions.

Congrats on the weight loss! And welcome back to work! blaaaaah. So glad to hear that Jen is having a fun time!

LL- I have seen 5 out of 7 of the episodes...the 3rd disk is on its way from netflix-I'm with you-I have to check out the $-I think it's going to be an owner...:goodvibes

(ummm-Franklin's behaviour in France was interesting and that was quite a scene when Abigal comes to be with John in France......)

I have David watching Liberty's Kids with me-well I bought them-great price-they showed them on PBS a couple years back-I thought they were well done and would be helpful(useful education resource) when he studied the Revolution at school...:rolleyes1...a 7 year old is a little young for the temporal concepts in history but he loves the idea of freedom-very upset when I explained slavery to him...and doesn't think the idea of a king is fair-my little patriot...;)

(actually he likes them(the DVDs-particularly the more action scenes...the battles...etc. he was fascinated by the squirmish at Lex/Concord-I told him we were there when he was a baby but he wants to see them again and Bunker Hill...and he thinks its uber cool how much happened in Philadelphia...:goodvibes)

I think that a regional park outside of Boston would be very cool-

I'd like to see a ride -a not too crazy coaster-think BTMRR-that basically was the ride of Paul Revere...how fun would that be???:goodvibes...hmmm this could be quite fun...

Definitely a John Adams attraction...but what to do for him...and Abigal has to be part of it...

I guess I'm the odd man out, but I say stay at Pop. For us, we really didn't see that much difference between Pop and POFQ. In fact, we liked the food court better at Pop.

Have you made a decision yet?

Not really helpful but it's nice to see everything in type. :lmao: A for effort!! :rotfl2:

MEK, you must start your TR. I am ready for it to begin!! :yay:

I'm planning on going parasailing this summer, there are places up here that do it so it will be taken care of before getting pregnant!

You aren't pushy! I just don't know what to do. :rolleyes1

Franklin's behavior was CRAZY. It made me laugh though.

I've seen Liberty Kids before, it's a good show! Glad you and David are enjoying it!

Oooh....I am loving the idea of Paul Revere ride!!

I have no idea about John Adams attraction. Hmmm. Needs to have Abigail in it too. OOOH! What about some sort of log ride signifying his voyage over to France...??

I guess I'm the odd man out, but I say stay at Pop. For us, we really didn't see that much difference between Pop and POFQ. In fact, we liked the food court better at Pop.

Have you made a decision yet?
I haven't made a decision yet at all. I am so confused. One minute I am happy with staying at Pop, then the next minute I can't imagine NOT staying at Riverside and then 15 minutes later I'm online pricing out Wilderness Lodge. I have issues.

I haven't made any decisions....who's surprised? At one point today I was even pricing out Wilderness Lodge. What the HECK am I thinking? I plead temporary insanity on that move. :rolleyes1

It's time for a Pro/Con List. I need to see everything written out.

Pop Century

Pro's
*Staying in the 80's Section to celebrate our decade.
*We've both stayed there and we both like it.
*Bus Transportation.
*Less Expensive, very affordable when splitting the cost.
*I've stayed there before so I'll be comfortable when by myself.

Con's
*Smaller Room.
*Been There, Done That.
*Crazy Hectic Busy...or at least that is how it felt to me last September.

Port Orleans

Pro's
*Something New.
*Make me feel like a Southern Belle. :rolleyes1
*Looks so relaxing and inviting.
*Larger Room.
*I believe we get a fridge with the room....true or false?

Con's
*More Expensive.
*Not familiar with the resort...will I feel uncomfortable solo?
*Iffy Bus Transportation...??

I feel like the biggest factor is the MONEY. Big surprise there, eh?

Now if we do the 4/3 deal at Port Orleans, we have to pay for the package in November. Which stresses me out seeing that Marc will be out of work for his surgery at that point. We would still have to do 3 nights after the 4/3 deal, so that means another deposit in addition to paying for the package. Jen wouldn't be able to be added onto it until I arrived since she has an AP and this year you have to buy tickets with the package. Which is okay for me since I need the tickets.

The other option is to do the 5/2 deal at Pop. I need the tickets...so if I start the 5/2 deal on the 9th, Jen and I could spend three nights at Port Orleans with a possible AP discount after the first 7 nights.

Or......do I just stay at Pop the whole time and hope for a kick butt AP rate for when Jen arrives. I'll have to do two reservations since I won't have the AP.

Oh my goodness. Can you see WHY I can't make a decision?

:headache: :scared1: :headache: :scared1: :headache:

Right now our reservation is at Pop for all 10 nights....and it's staying there until I feel comfortable with a change or new decision.

For now.

Let's play again! Where in Disney Am I?
