Disney Gives Me the Warm Fuzzies. January 2010 PreTrip Report. Update 11/6 Pg. 79

Hey there! WOOT for another PTR! :goodvibes

I'm very happy that you're going in January.

Because I'm going in January. No, I'm kidding, I'm happy that you rescheduled your trip and that you still get to have those warm fuzzies. :thumbsup2

And also, because we could run into each other. ;)

This is starting to feel like deja vu!!!!!

So glad you girlies are going again!!!!

Hey subbing on...Looking forward to some warm fuzzies...:goodvibes
Glad to have you here!

:rotfl: So is that the weekend you are going?! That would be so neat.

You used to go in January all the time, right? I think I am remembering correctly.

This is starting to feel like deja vu!!!!!

 Isn't it though?

When I postponed September my first thought for a January resort was Port Orleans Riverside without a doubt. I am DYING to stay there. There is just something about it's Southern Charm that keeps drawing me there.

I told Jen this when she was first thinking of joining me on this trip. She said she was up for whatever. She's good like that.

Then I got to thinking...

Mind you, this was less than 24 hours from when I told Jen we were staying at Riverside without a doubt....to split the room with Jen and to hope for an AP Rate for Riverside would be pretty darn good in terms of what we'd have to pay for the resort. But I was feeling guilty. I don't know why I don't think that when I go without Marc that I don't deserve to indulge a little bit but I start feeling guilty about the money being spent. Especially since I know that I'm going to be buying myself an AP in January since I have more than one 2010 trip planned. That's a big chunk of change to have to layout all at once.

I thought about it. I dwelled on it. I pondered it. Then I told Jen that I thought we should stay Value, especially if we are lucky enough to get an AP rate, for us to split the room will be darn right cheap! Plus Jen & I essentially just sleep in our room, with Marc I plan to do a bit more relaxing and swimming. I had a great time with Jen at All Star Music because we didn't have to mess with the buses, it became a drag with Mom since we were so far from the main building and the bus stops later in the week.

I had two Values in mind.

All Star Movies & Pop Century.

I didn't really care which one we stayed at because with Jen having the rental car, transportation is not a problem. I told Jen my two choices and she responded with "I really liked staying at Pop."

Pop it is!

I'd secretly like to get a room in the 80's section since Jen & I were both born during that decade. I think it would be fun but honestly I don't really care. We are booked for a standard room and I'd just like it to be close to a parking lot for the car.

But who knows what will happen between now and our actual trip. I can see us changing to Riverside if the right AP rate comes along...aka super duper cheapo rate. :rolleyes1

Jen & I have decided that after each PTR update we will each include one of our own Disney Warm Fuzzy. We hope that they will give you Disney Warm Fuzzies too!

Jen: The sound of the whispering gargoyles as you exit the stretching room in the Haunted Mansion.

LL: The smell of the orange groves on Soarin'.

OH...I do love Pop...if this is the resort we do ended up staying at it will be my 3rd time and I have never had an issue!!!! It's a great resort!!

Okay I just totally smiled when I read your warm fuzzy and I was so taken for a moment to Soarin which is an amazing ride!! I know that I love the smell of those groves and I always say AWWWWW when it gets to that part!! Great warm fuzzy!!!

:lovestruc LOVE :lovestruc your idea of sharing a WDW warm fuzzie with every update. That is PERFECT!

Pop sounds like fun. I'm going to ignore the fact that you were both born in the eighties! :faint: ;)

:woohoo: for APs, AP rates, and multiple trips in 2010! :yay:

May I share one of my fuzzies? :flower3:

"Por favor, mantengense alejado de las puertas..." :cloud9:

Love the idea of warm fuzzies, I've never road Soarin' :confused3:scared1:
But hope to on my trip in March :thumbsup2:)

I've heard many great things about POP :thumbsup2 Plan to stay there one day, some time in my future

I didn't realize that you started your new PTR already! I'm so glad that you are able to go in January AND go with Jen again. We went in January a few times and it was really nice. I'm excited to be counting down your trip with you -- it will make February come a little faster. :)

I also love the idea of posting your Disney warm fuzzies, such a great idea. Can't wait for more!

Mmmm, do I detect a possible split stay coming up? I know you were reaaaally wanting to stay there......

Pop it is!

I'd secretly like to get a room in the 80's section since Jen & I were both born during that decade.

I literally groaned out loud when I read that..... :headache:

Jen: The sound of the whispering gargoyles as you exit the stretching room in the Haunted Mansion.

I'm so looking forward to listening for that!

LL: The smell of the orange groves on Soarin'.

Ahhhhhhhhh.... I always smell deeply at that part of Soarin. Love the warm fuzzies!

You sound very happy with your decision. January should be great weatherwise. I hope the surgery is all that you want it to be and you will feel ready and raring to go when trip time comes!

Pop was good to us again on this trip. We have stayed in every decade now - 60's was our last one - and some of them we've done multiple times. I'm not convinced that decision is going to last long, though, if discounts come out.

Happy planning! :woohoo:

Pop is a super fun resort -- you two will have a blast there!

I love your warm fuzzies. Here's mine for the day: the rocking chairs by the firepit at AKL. ;)

I love the way smells can give you that warm fuzzy feeling at Disney. I really like it when you are somewhere in your own hometown and some certain smell can make you think of Disney!!!! Just for that split second you can practically see Mainstreet. :)

We planned on staying at POP when we go in October. But sometimes being on these boards gives you these silly, silly ideas. LOL Before I knew it, I had upgraded to Port Orleans French Quarter. :)

Ah.. the oranges on Soarin'---- for sure give me warm fuzzies. I might have to go and put my Disney CD in, close my eyes and go there!

OK...I'm good with the plan as long as you guys have a Pina Colava at Petals in celebration of my (GULP) 33rd bday when you arrive!!!

I'm in again!

I love your warm fuzzies idea...definitely agree with the orange smell on Soarin. :thumbsup2:goodvibes

The gargoyles whisper??? I love HM and I didn't know that-like you can actually hear what they're saying???:confused3

LL: The smell of the orange groves on Soarin'.

::yes::Mmmm...orange....:goodvibes
