Disney gives gay couples 'Fairy Tale Weddings'

Minnie?

Have you seen the Queen of Hearts?:lmao:
LMAO. With Minnie it's the shoes and purse, as well as the exaggerated gestures of surprise. But the Queen of Hearts takes the cake. Personally, I think Chip and Dale are more than friends.

Chip n Dale.. THAT's who I want at my wedding..!!

Knox

Tarzan and Hunk-ules would be nice to look at during the reception....

Great news! Congratulations to all those who can now have their dream wedding. To me it seems a long time coming.

First of all, congrats goes out to Maggie and Gabby in having their dreams come true :bride: :bride: ...that's truly Disney afterall. I hope you guys will share some pics of your event, that will be so awesome! :)

We are beyond excited here, this is so cool. I'm now truly secure with our decision to do Disney as our civil union honeymoon this July...all I can say about all this, it's about time and thanks to those who complained! They were bound to see the light eventually.

Hooray! I'm so happy to hear this! Delight!

(And I call troll on Nilvarg, esp. the creation of an account simply to post on this topic here and on the dis wedding board. Esp. here.):sad2:

Well. May I be a bit grumpy (beats dopey, eh) and say it's about darn time. :thumbsup2

"After an inquiry by a guest" feels more like someone made a "challenge the policy via the court system" inquiry, but that's my old cynical self, eh?

That they've finally chosen to allow everyone to share their love and commitment to each other is truly nice.

It really did make me feel a certain unpleasant cognitive dissonance when I was there; knowing that they refused to honor the love and partnership of many of their guests.

Nice one Disney. Thanks. :)

I just told my partner, Joi, the news and the first thing she sais was "when are we going to do it?" This is wonderful news.

Well, this is a wonderful bit of morning news!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Like all good Christians (JUST KIDDING) I was in church last night and didn't get home 'til way late so I totally missed this.

Would you all care to join me in a moment of silence while I go unstick the Bad-Disney! sticky!!!:wizard::wizard::wizard:

Maybe the article in that bad-Disney sticky is what prompted the change. It really was an unfair policy given that plenty of out-of-state couples were marrying there without need of Florida licenses or indeed any license at all. The timing of the decision relative to that article is striking. Anyway, strike up the band as we march proudly toward equality.

Did I see a nasty little troll on page two? Go away, you entered our area.

There I feel better now.

2010? But that's so long from now!!!

Hey there Wendy pal-o-mine. Actually, after I posted that, I marched into the living room where Joe was watching CSI and announced that we were getting married in Disney in 2010 for our 20th. He looks at me and just quietly said, "Why wait so long?"

I have the best partner ever!

Your right. This is happy, we'll ignore them. I'm sure we all will be talking about this at the Garage. I propose a toast now in honor of the good news.

Glad I could be there for ya'! :thumbsup2

I swear, I am sitting here bawling like a baby from absolute happiness that I will finally have my own dream wedding. Gabby and I have been patiently waiting and dreaming of the time when Disney would allow us to marry, but never really thought that we would be lucky enough to see the day. She is on her way home now from the airport. She has been in PA all week. I told her about the article and literaly had my breath taken away when I started reading the article to her. She agreed that we needed to go ahead with our dream wedding plans......90% of which have been floating around my head for years in mothball covered corners of my mind. I am in shock really. But, WOW!

I have already created a doc file on my computer entitled "Our Wedding" the first file included is a copy of that article. You can bet that I won't forget this day. OMG! It's just so freakin' amazing. Maggie

And Maggie, you can include me in the teary eyed category. I was last night, and seeing posts from some folks have me teary eyed again.

I have loved Joe for little more than 16 years and will love him for many, many more years to come. We've talked about "what if's" and "wouldn't it be cool to" when it comes to having a little commitment ceremony of some sort at Disney. He knows it's my favorite place and has since told me it has become one of his as well because he knows just how much I love it. It's rubbed off on him.

But our "what if's" were always just pipe dreams.

And now they're not!

I'm going to start saving every penny, nickle, dime, quarter, etc... so we can do this!

YAY!!

I am so happy for all of you!!:goodvibes Especially Maggie & Gabby!! This is truly wonderful news. Every bit helps, doesn't it? My sincere wishes that the little victories for equality eventually add up to complete equality for everyone!

Happy planning!!!!

:bride: :bride:

:groom: :groom:
