Apologies if this is already is one of the threads regarding the current DVC ticket deal but I couldn't find it. I am thinking of buying a bunch of the current DVC deal tickets for future use by kids in our family. I can save a few bucks if I buy Disney gift cards with my Target credit card, combine them into one or two Disney gift cards and then buy the tickets. But I want to verify that I can, in fact, use Disney gift cards to buy these DVC tickets. Has anyone done this?

Someone just posted a couple of days ago that they did that. The first MS person said it couldn't be done but it was suggested they call back and that person was a bit better trained and completed the purchase for them using the GCs.

Thanks, Kathy. I thought I had seen something but couldn't find it again.

In the past we were restricted to 2 forms of payment...as in 2 disney gift cards or a gift card in combo w/a CC (works better for odd amounts imo).

Have often made multiple, single transactions at the suggestion of MS. Just have to manage different will call numbers.

You definitely can do this. If you have a Disney Vacation Account and it's been open for at least 120 days, you can load the gift cards into the account and pay immediately (no wait on gift card deposits) and get an extra $20 per $1,000 spent. Otherwise, just combine them up to $1,000 via the gift card site and use them that way. Also, I think you were asking about this in a different thread, but when you receive the tickets, there is nothing "special" about them; they look just like any regular ticket you would purchase and have no DVC designations on them. The only difference is that you are getting them at the "special" DVC price by going through the link.

Does this mean I would not be able to use two $500 gift cards AND a credit card? I have to combine the gift cards?

Thanks.

Just did this today.

Call ticketing
1-407-566-4985
Use option 5.
Make sure you tell them you are a DVC member and get the DVC rate.

I used 9 100$ gift cards, 1 50$ one, 1 that had like 11$ on it, and a CC for the last 30 bucks to purchase 2 annual pass(gold) renewals, so 11 forms of payment.

Took less than 10 minutes, just had to read a lot of numbers!

Member services can only handle 2 forms of payment; which is why you need to call ticketing.

Can you do it online? Would you be able to split the purchase into multiple transactions so you only pay with one gift card and do it online?

It makes everyones time so much easier if you combine the gift cards to one larger one before you use them. Takes less time and is quicker for the cast member. It is really easy to do online too.

It's so easy to combine the gift cards now that there really isn't any reason not to if you have a large purchase to make.

From reports I've seen, no AP increase.

Thx. Trying to figure out whether to buy multi day passes using the dvc 25yr add on a day deal in the next few hours.... Just to "have".

We already have a 10 day no expire pass for all 4 members of my family (2 adults, 2 kids) for the future. That's pretty much $2500 in tickets that we are sitting on, waiting till my 2yr old is old enough to park hop and even need entry tickets.

I loathe to dump more money into Disney tickets right now.

Just be advised when combining gift cards the max is $1000. I learned that lesson when trying to combine to pay dues.

I just used a gift card yesterday to buy one of the 25th Anniversary tickets.
