I was looking at gift cards in Krogers and saw the Disney gift cards. Can I buy these and use them to pay for a vacation package (resort/tickets etc)? I could earn fuel perks while saving for my Disney vacation. Anyone have experience with this?
We did it this past December when you got 4x your points if you bought gift cards. Figured we saved close to $100 in gas...
No problems with it. At first I thought they just had set dollar increments (meaning I'd have to buy a lot of $100 cards) but after looking they did have the ones you could buy and put up to $1500 on one card. And we used our cash back credit card to buy so we got a little extra for that as well.
Worked out great!
I am doing this right now, for fuel perks for Giant Eagle. Then when I get my gas I also get a grocery discount for the fuel I "purchased". I also know 2 people personally who did it.
Also, if you have a Chase Freedom card, you get 5% cash back on Grocery Store purchases from April 1st until June 30th. So for every $1,000 you buy in gift cards, that's $50 back.
I have paid for our whole trip with Disney Gift cards from Gaint Eagle. I get fuel points and when I use my fuel point I get food points and at diffrent times of the year you get extra point. I also buy our hotel cards for the night before we fly to Disney and the night we fly back into Pittsburgh. We also include our flight in our package so that is on the disney gift cards also. Giving us more points.
