Can you use Disney gift cards to link to your magic bands and any hotel incidentals vs a credit card ?

I don't believe so. However the card on file is charged at the hotel and I know some people pay off the charges with Disney gift cards. But I doubt they would let you put a gift card on file instead of a debit or credit card

No, you still have to give a cc, but your cc won't get charged right away when you make purchases. We went to the desk every other day or so to pay off our balance with gift cards before the charges went on our cc.

Somewhere around here on the boards you'll find the info about when you get charged - the amount is different for deluxe, moderate, and value resorts, but just going every other day was easy enough to make sure we never got to that point.

They technically could implement a system to place a hold on a card balance and then officially charge any amount at night. Since you can now combine cards up to $1000, it wouldn't be so bad managing 1 card, or a DVA ...
But the whole point of charging to the room is disconnecting guests from real money, so that guests are likely to overspend their budget.

Once you are off site, you won't be able to charge to your MB anymore.

your room charge balance is settled automatically during the night leading to your check out.
if you want to settle that charge (all or part of it) with another payment method (cash, gift card, mardi gras beads) you need to do so at front desk/concierge before your last night at the hotel, otherwise the charges will go to your CC


you can charge up to $1500 at values ad moderates, and $2000 at deluxes/DVCs. if that limit is reached, payment is processed on your CC and you get a fresh limit of the same amounts.

once you've checked out, you can no longer use the charging privileges.
you can't use the charging functions of your magic band if you're not an onsite guest.
