Hoping someone can help me figure this out. I started using a Disney Chase Visa Card earlier this year to accumulate points to use for onboard credit on an upcoming Disney Cruise. I have two cards called "Disney Gift Card" and recently received something called Disney Rewards Redemption Card. Are they the same thing? Is there any way to combine all of them? Can I use all of them onboard the ship? Thanks Dis peeps!

The Disney Rewards Redemption Card is where you transfer reward dollars earned from using your Disney Visa Card. While it works much like a Disney Gift Card and is accepted at many of the same locations, they are not the same.

Is there any way to combine all of them?
At places that sell Disney Gift Cards, you can purchase/reload ($5 minimum) a Disney Gift Card using reward dollars that have been transferred to your Redemption Card.

Can I use all of them onboard the ship?
Yes, you can use Disney Gift Cards and your Disney Rewards Redemption Card onboard a Disney Cruise Line ship.

They are not the same thing.
You cannot combine gift cards and Disney reward redemption cards.
They both work in the same way when in use but they are not technically the same thing.

You can't combine them but you can purchase gift cards with the redemption card. Back when the redemption cards had expiration dates that is what I would do to make sure I didn't lose any rewards. Gift cards can be ordered online with the redemption card (they do ask for a credit card as back up in case the redemption card doesn't have enough to cover the purchase but they won't charge it as long as you have enough rewards) and shipping is free.

Oops just now noticed this was already stated, sorry for the repeat info!

I just used both on my DCL cruise. You can use Disney Gift Cards at point of sale in the merchandise shops or by going to guest services and putting any amount of your gift card toward your onboard account. I don't think you can use the redemption card at point of sale but you can put any amount on the redemption card toward your onboard account at guest services.

I put my redemption card amount toward my onboard account on my recent cruise but I used my Disney gift cards at point of sale in the shops.

They are 2 different things. One thing to know the Disney Rewards Redemption Card can be reused. (technically you can reuse a regular gift card) When you get enough points from your Disney Visa you can put them right on the same Disney Rewards Redemption Card you have. If you throw it away you just have to wait to get a new one. I usually wait until last minute to redeem my points so that I can use them on the cruise, apply them to my existing Disney Rewards Redemption Card I have. I am worried the Disney Rewards Redemption Card wouldn't show up in time for the cruise.
