If you get a Disney Store gift card can it be used in the parks? Is there a difference in gift cards? I know there are also something called Disney Dollars. Can anyone just break it down for me. I would like to know if I have a Disney store gift card can it be used in the parks (like at stores & the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique).

Thank you.

There are no Disney Store Gift Cards... it's just the Disney Gift Card.

Disney Gift Cards can be used at selected locations at the Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Cruise Line, Disney Store locations in the US, and DisneyShopping.com. At the Resorts, Disney Gift Cards are usually only taken at locations that are owned and operated by Disney and cannot be used towards the purchase of any Disney Gift Cards or Disney Dollars. Depending on where the Disney Gift Card was issued, remaining balances may or may not be redeemable for cash and the card may or may not have an expiration date.

Disney Dollars are used on a one-for-one exchange ratio with US Dollars. They are usable at the same locations that are listed above for the Disney Gift Card.

from the disney site...... I have used these and will be doing it again. I love the cards. but be sure to have extra cash to so you can eat at non disney resturants, and carts who do not take the cards ( some are not able to swip the cards I hear )

If you can wait until you GET to the park to buy the gift cards, they have $50 ones that come with a free pin! Great for pin trading. I read on another site that you can buy a bunch and then use the gift cards to pay for your passes, for one thing. That would give you a pile of pins to trade. (free)

They had them at WDW, not sure aboout DL.

Yes, you can use them at the parks and the Disney Store. I bought it online through Disneyland.com and used it at the parks and used my remaining balance at the Disney Store just the other day.

actually Outdoor Vending do not take credit cards.

And yes, ive actually said this before before someone tells me i shouldnt say anything before i know the facts... any "suppose" ODV carts are now considered part of QSR now.

ODV now only consist of non-register carts...

Im hoping DL has them as I have 800.00 and want those 16 pins to trade with!!
Im not buying them on line this time, Im waiting to get them in the park. ( unless there is no free pins then I will wait for 1 month and see if there in DL yet.

disneygiftcard.com tells quite a bit about them. except, if they are still saying that Taste Pilots doesn't take them, the site is wrong.

That said, disneyshopping.com DOES have a .com specific e-certificate, that you can buy, and COULD confuse someone trying to buy a giftcard. So be aware.

teatime, I would like to stay at the Disneyland Hotel and use a gift card as part of my payment but you say it is not valid for payment of Resort Hotel room nights. But the Desney gift card website says

Disneyland® Resort Hotels
Present the Disney Gift Card at any of the Disneyland® Resort Hotel Front Desks as payment towards hotel room nights or accumulated purchases on your Resort charge. The Disney Gift Card can also be used at any Disneyland® Resort Hotel merchandise or restaurant locations. Not valid for Room Service.

Am I missing somthing?

I just cut and pasted what the site said. ..... hummmm anyone else answer this question?

Thanks teatime, I guess I will call ahead before I try to use them. I hope they do use them for the room payment.
I can't wait this will be my first time staying at one of their hotels.

I would call the specific hotel and talk to the front desk to ask.

I just went through a fake booking online, and for room only it was not accepting anything but credit/debit cards (and call to use the rewards card).

But that's just for the deposit, and I wonder if the giftcard could be used AT the resort, to pay off your stay at the end.

Yes Bumbershoot I will call the hotel and ask them.
Im getting a $250.00 dollar good job bonus from work and the website that we use to get gift cards from has the disney gift cards.
