Disney gift card question

Going to DL for the first time in September, can't wait!! I was wondering if the restaurants in DTD accept Disney gift cards TIA

Negative...only merchants in DTD that take Disney gift cards are the Disney owned and managed stores like World of Disney.

I've never tried to use a Disney gift card anywhere in DTD other than the Disney-owned businesses (such as Marceline's Confectionery, World of Disney, etc.). My guess -- and I could be totally, completely wrong -- is that the non-Disney-owned businesses in DTD (such as Jazz Kitchen, Rainforest Cafe, etc.) will not take the gift card.

However, the gift cards are definitely accepted at the 3 Disney hotels' restaurants (counter service and table service)!

Many DTD merchants DO however offer AP discounts even though they are not Disney properties.
