Hi! Does anyone know if you can purchase Disney Gift Cards or Park tickets at a Canadian Disney Store Outlets? I am surprising my daughter at Christmas with a Disney trip (in January), and would like her to open a gift card and/or park tickets as part of the surprise.
Thanks!

You can order them online from Disney and have them sent. I believe the fee is $25 for international shipping. My mom ordered me $100 gift card for my birthday last year, and I ordered tickets and had them shipped to me just a few weeks ago. In both cases, they were here in under a week. :)

Did you have them sent to a Canadian address? When I tried to do that, it says "No method of shipping found" when you enter Canada as the country, even tho Canada is an option! I even added an autograph book to the cart, and it wouldn't take it!!! :confused3

Does anyone know? If your in Canada can you add funds to a card you already have? I ordered 3 cards off of DMR and last time I did that they work fine in the parks. The only thing is they're only $10. If I could top them up I could put all the kids spending money on there. I know I can do it when I get there but its nice to tuck a little away here and there. If you can top them up you can buy an empty one off eBay and top it up yourself. I have one around here with like 50 cents on it if I can find it.

If you want to do tickets, I've ordered from UCT and they mail them right to you house in Canada within a week or 2. I use the link in the Mousesavers newsletter to get a discount.

ETA- I just checked the FAQs for Disney Gift Cards and they say you can't reload online. I'm not sure about calling in but one idea is buy a blank card and when you get to the park load it.

I've done a live chat with a cast member about this because I had the same plan for the kids Christmas gifts for our February trip. They don't sell/ship them to Canada, although she said she thought the Disney florist might. Not sure why they would and not have it be something you could do generally, but I haven't beeen in touch about that yet.

What I've decided to do, since I want to get some stocking stuffers anyway, is to go to the Disney store in Mississauga and get a couple of blank cards to wrap up and give as gifts and will put something like "good for $x spending money at Disney". When we arrive at the resort, I'll get them actual loaded cards for their spending money.

I saw the UCT (I assume Undercover Tourist,LOL!!), wasn't sure if that was all on the up and up...some places try to scam you, but i've seen this mentioned before...might have to give it a try!

OOooo. buying a blank one is good too...as long as she thinks she has "money" to spend on her own, she won't know it has nothing on it yet, lol!
How did you order off DMR? I looked and couldn't find that...mind you, I just started with it and don't have enough points

Thats great! If the stores sell them blank, that is perfect!:scratchin

They had them on Nov 20. They sold out around 5pm. I follow them on FB and keep an eye out for when things I'm interested in are offered. They had them last year and the year before, the same way in limited quantities.

I highly recommend undercover tourist. The first time I used them I waited 14 days and no tickets. I called them and they said maybe they were lost, we will cancel the old ones and you can pick up new ones at the will call window. DH was like No. He gets on the phone and tells them we're not going all the way to Orlando without tickets in hand. They said ok. And they overnighted new tickets registered mail. To me a business really shows their stripes with how they handle things that go wrong. I was very satisfied.

Last month I bought more tickets. Had them in a week without a glitch.

Yes I did. We chose international shipping and it was sent to my front door by UPS.:confused3
I ordered the tickets right from the MDE site, and I believe the gift card came from the Disneyland site (doesn't matter though as they are good for both places).

I got a Disney gift card, right to my home address in Canada on my birthday in January. Go here.. it ships from Disneyland strangely enough but they are good for Disney World too (says so right on the site and I used the card in Disney World.)

Just choose international shipping. They won't ship to a P.O. box though.

And this is what it says on the check out page

The Disney Gift Card can only be used at select participating locations at Disneyland® Resort, Walt Disney World® Resort, Disney Cruise Line®, Disney Store locations in the US and DisneyShopping.com. See participating locations for details or visit DisneyGiftCard.com for more information about the Disney Gift Card program. Other restrictions may apply. Subject to change without notice. Lost, stolen or damaged gift cards will not be replaced without required proof of purchase. Disney Gift Card Terms and Conditions

Thanks for that link!! Especially because my update is that they do not carry gift cards here. They have paper gift certificates but they have to be for a dollar amount (CDN) but no plastic cards. I'll try this next.

Thanks for the link. Like others I thought the WDW/DL gift cards could not be bought online by Canadians. This is something I can use right now. :)

I'm so glad it worked for you guys! Last year when my mom said she bought me a Disney gift card online for my birthday, I told her she couldn't have because there was no way for Canadians to get one. She assured me she did and it showed up at my door by UPS a few days later.:goodvibes
I had to laugh, because Disney reps are telling us it can't be done, we're on the Disboards day in and day out and thought it couldn't be done, and here is my Mom who hasn't been to Disney since the 80's and she figured somehow managed to do it in a few minutes:rotfl:.

Thank you, and thank your mom!!! Tell her she has just become famous! :cool2:

Another confirmed happy traveler here! Ordered them on the 29th and they arrived today via fedex.... it was UBER easy... only down side is the shipping cost, but I'm still happy with the fact they are in hand!

:O)
Thanks for the tip!
