For people who have 2 ebay accounts - one for themself and one for their spouse, can you use the same ebates / mypoints account to link to the spouse's ebay account?

My DH has an ebay account, but not ebates / mypoints - I didn't know if I could link through my ebates / mypoints account and get credit for purchases through his ebay account?

eBates only cares that you use their portal to shop. They don't care what account is used for the purchase itself. I use our business account at Quill for eBates. No problems there at all.

KMart and Sears are a case of YMMV. Some people have reported success and others have said that they were denied using a Sears/KMart GC to purchase any other GC. My Sears had Disney GCs around the holidays. My KMart has them all of the time.

Thank you! I'll have to decide whether to try or not. I don't typically shop at Kmart or Sears very much, so I really don't want to end up with a bunch of their gift cards. I guess I could try with a small amount and see how that goes.

I combine all my Disney cards on the gift card site until I hit $1000, then I put in in the DVA. I have had great success with DVA, both with receiving my bonus cards and requesting a GC from the remainder of my account. Other than the initial deposit, I have only used gift cards for deposits and never requested a refund. Since I would combine the gift cards anyway, it is worth the extra step for me.

I personally don't use DVA but I know a few pages back there was someone who had a LOT of small denomination GC's in her DVA. She needed them to be refunded, and had a lot of issues.

Yeah, it can't hurt. But that story was somewhat convoluted and never really made sense. If I pay DCL with my DVA and then cancel, dcl only has my DVA account number to refund. They never saw the gift cards.

Not really. If you have to refund, your refund will go onto the payment methods you paid in with, so that is a pain if you're refunding to a bunch of small cards. Your money would still be tied up in Disney cards tho, so once I put money into the DVA (or really any of this) I consider that money permanently marked for a vacation.

Ok, since we're nearing the end of the eBucks quarter, I have a question (or 2...) I know that when redeeming your bucks you do not earn more eBucks (makes sense!). So, if I have $88 of eBucks to spend, can I use a ebay gc to make up any difference in price between my bucks and my purchase? Or do I have to use "cash" through paypal? Just trying to get my ducks in a row and make sure I'm not missing something! Thanks

Yes, you can use an eBay gift card as partial payment. However, last quarter, some of us had issues getting the transactions to go through. We figured out that you had to go over your gift card amount and pay at least SOMETHING out of pocket for it to work.

Actually, you do earn more ebay bucks when you purchase using ebay bucks. Win-win!

FWIW, last quarter when I tried to use my ebay bucks, it would not allow me to use a gift card at the same time I used ebay bucks. There were a few people that reported the same problem as me, but as many or more who were able to. Just a warning that you may or may not have that go easily for you when the time comes.

Aah, me too! Was able to do $1650 of the $1850 I had in gc's, and got my max $500 in ebucks! Lost about $15 there, but really glad I got the $500 free money! Now I will be able to spend those ebucks on target gc's at eBay in April, to use to buy Disney gc's at target, correct, even though I hit my $5000 spending of eBay Gc's? The ebucks aren't counted with the eBay gcs, right?

No - (as far as I know) ebay bucks are not counted as gift cards against your 5k limit.

Yes, it is a YMMV thing. Sometimes the same Kmart will be different every single time I walk in. My local Kmart has ebay ($25s) in stock, but was out of Disney. They have told me before that I couldn't use a gc to buy a gc, but other than that 1 time, I've always been able too (probably $2K in gc overall). The one near where I take my kids to their Dad's has ebay and Disney ($50s). They have always let me use gc to buy gc (probably $1k). I haven't tried sears.

PerfessorZ is correct. I earned ebay bucks spending my ebay bucks in October and January, and they did not count against my 5K limit (I was already over by January).

Can my DH use a savings account to verify a PayPal account or must it be a checking? I'm within $150 of reaching my 5k limit and would like to set up a PayPal and Ebay in his name to be able to continue.

Are there other options to continuing to churn or is another PayPal/eBay account in someone else's name the only option?

Forgot to ask, what happens when you hit the $500 limit for eBay bucks? That's an eBay limit, correct? So, even if using a different PayPal acct to use another $5000 limit, wouldn't you not get the eBay bucks with the $500 limit per quarter in the one eBay acct? What value is there then if you can't get the big eBay bucks if you reach the $500 quarter limit?

Correct, you can only get 500 Ebay Bucks. I was new at this and was not expecting the X times offers to come so frequently. So I jumoed on everyone that came because my trip is next month. I quickly burned through my 5k limit. After my trip, it will only be 5x offers from then on.

Do any of you put all the cards you buy here in a DVA also? Wondering if that step is worth the effort.

Only add to DVA when I expect to pay Disney direct for vacation or DVC fees. Other wise they get combined into as few GCs as possible.

The biggest you would normally see is 5X. But once in a great while you will see a 10%.

I do it in case I need a refund - that way I only haveto keep track on one card per $1000

I think she was joking b/c 5x would equal 10%. Regular ebay bucks are 2%, so 2x = 4%, 3x = 6%, 4x = 8%, and 5x = 10%.
