Disney Genie+ and ILL$ Details & FAQ - Launches 10/19 at WDW, Paid "FastPass" at WDW and Disneyland (date TBD)

I think it is interesting that for the new Very Merriest After Hours party, every single date remains available and not sold out. Either Disney increased the crowds allowed for Very Merriest (but then is it really an After Hours party?) - or people aren't attending.
I think a lot of people are using vacation time to see family at holidays especially. I was "lucky" and got to see my family this Summer after not seeing them for 2 years, but I know a lot of people who will be soaking up family time Thanksgiving and Christmas rather than taking vacations...

A lot of the I think was people who had cancelled trips from when the parks were closed. IMO that is over and the travel industry is going into a downturn. Lots of availability for the next few months
I agree with this, makes the most sense to me. Headed there next week, all adults. Curious to see if it keeps up!

So if it's only 1 LL per ride, I suppose a good strategy will be to ropedrop a few rides before starting to use the LAs?
That's probably a good strategy for anyone who likes to do re-rides but how many rides can you get in before the standby lines build? At DL, it might be quite a few. At WDW, I'm thinking one or two if you're staying onsite and take advantage of the 30-minute early entry. After rope drop occurs for the masses, you're probably not going to see more than 1 short standby queue for Tier 2 attractions. The onsite guests will already be ahead if offsite guests in every line.

With guests supposedly only allowed access to the LL for each attraction once each day, I was upset at first. But then I thought about how we tour, and that might actually be beneficial to us since we park hop each day. Getting to our second park, hopefully there will still be good availability in the afternoon and into the evening (trying to find the silver lining…but man it’s tough with this news).

But how does that explain the packed crowds over the summer?
As someone who went in July and is also here now, I would say it is significantly more crowded now than it was then. My only logical explanation for the shorter waits is increased ride capacity and staffing. I've said it a couple times in other threads, but the ride lines are moving quite a bit faster than they had been.

Do we know for a fact that you will get 2 parks worth of LL passes with purchasing it at one park? That seems like a pretty big loophole.

If it is limited to one park, then even I, a G+ cheerleader, would bow out. I'm eagerly awaiting the chance to add G+ to our tickets. But if it was one park, I'd probably just add it to a couple of MK days. Just that leads me to think it will be more than one park. Because if they make the rules that even I'm not interested ... Plus, Disney seems to want to spread people throughout the park.

At Universal you can buy Express Pass for the day at one park, or pay more for park hopping for the day. The price varies but is over $100. I would assume the $15 G+ is just one park.

Of course at uo the express passes seem to be artificially inflated to increase perceived value and push deluxe hotels. It is also unlimited walk up, nothing at all like G+ I agree that if limited to reservations you have to wait for and one per ride, it makes the most sense that you can use it if park hopping.

I feel like the fact that it can be/will be able to be added as part of the ticket package, which can include park hopping and does not have a prerequisite-park per day assignment requirement, it seems intuitive to me that it will allow park hopping.

We don't. However, I believe it was confirmed that guests with PH will be allowed to purchase IA$ attractions at different parks (i.e. 7DMT and FoP on the same day). Would be a bummer if Genie+ did not allow guests with PH to continue to use it when they hop, especially with the limit to one time through the lightning lane per attractions.

We won't really know everything until they announce more details (c'mon Disney!!!!).

The unlimited option is if you’re at the deluxe hotels. The regular express pass you buy out of pocket is just one ride each, I believe. Perhaps there is an EP you can purchase for unlimited rides, but that’s an even higher price, I’d wager.

ETA: I wouldn’t at all be surprised if eventually there is park hopping ability with G+. I just think it would be at a higher price point than $15, which is why I’m making the Universal comparison.

This is Chapek's Disney - there's no way you'll be able to use Genie at multiple parks, even with a park hopper, unless you buy it for every park that day...

He won't keep a loophole that loses him money...

Yeah, it’s just too low a price point. I would honestly be shocked if $15 covers all four parks for the day. I would bet good money it won’t.

You can buy the unlimited or the one per ride, there are different options.

Yes, but at a considerably higher price, right? My point being, $15 is likely not going to cover four parks.
No, you're right. I'm just clarifying that it is possible. They say one time per ride starts at 69 and unlimited starts at 89, but I've never seen them that low. Usually more like 150 and 250. Up to over 350 for some weekend dates this past summer.
