DH gave me a $50 gc for my bday. I just tried to add it to my gift card account (so I can merge funds from another card). Says the card acct # should be 16 digits and the security code 8. This card has 12 digits for the account number. When I scratched off the grey stuff, there were 4 more digits. So if it was a continuation of the account numbers, then that makes the 16. Then it has the EAN but it's only 4 digits and it is supposed to be 8. Does any of this make sense?

Not sure what I'm missing.

By any chance do you have a Disney 'Store' gift card?

The first 4 digits underneath the gray stuff are the last 4 digits of the gift card number. The EAN should be completely obscured by the gray stuff. And yes, there should be 8 numbers, not just 4. The card should actually read: EAN ########.

But there's not EAN ########. It's just EAN ####. There is a space of about 3 characters before the digits and a large space after. It's like they forgot to add 4 digits.

I just called the 800# on the back of the card and she could see it bc she merged that amount with the digital card I already had (wanted all the funds on the physical card). But now I still can't add the physical card to the website b/c of the missing EAN.

I don't believe so. It's a card he got from CVS. Just says Disney gift card on it.

I'm glad you were able to move the funds to an existing GC. Is there a reason why you want to add this now-empty GC to the website? I tend to just chuck the empty cards unless they have a cute picture. The generic red card with Mickey goes in the trash.

Yikes. Doesn't sound right. I'd probably call back and move all funds to the digital card and find another physical card to transfer the funds back to. You can buy a smaller value card. Or, just keep them on the digital card.

I read her response differently. I understood that she put the digital card's funds on the weird physical card.

Correct. My digital one was from Shopkick. I know have a physical one. Found out the hard way you can't actually scan the cards from the site at the parks. So that's when I realized I needed to have the funds on a physical card.

That's what I think I'm going to do. I'll have them move it back to the digital card and then get a smaller amount physical card and move them then (Kroger has extra fuel points right now anyways).

The Disney gift card you have is still valid. It is an older card. Unfortunately, these cards cannot be combined or transferred to another card. ,just use it as is.
