We're booked for a week in July at PBH and want to spend the week exploring everything BUT Disney.

Spending time at IOA and US is part of the plan, but where else should we go that week?
(I have three boys ages 12, 10 & 6).

Thanks!

Some things we've done (and loved) with our son.....

- Discovery Cove
- SeaWorld
- Aquatica
- the beach (both Daytona and Cocoa....his favourite was Daytona)
- jetskiing (on Lake Minneola -- used Makaio Watersports)
- Gatorland
- an airboat ride
- Outta Control Dinner Show
- Showcase of Citrus (monster truck ride through an orange grove.....is almost always half price on Groupon or Livingsocial)
- Mini golf.....our favourites, in order: Congo River, Hollywood Drive-In Golf, Congo River, Pirates Cove, Mighty Jungle, Volcano Island, Hawaiian Rumble, Gator Golf
- Kissimmee go-karts (go-karts, gator feeding and arcade)

I am sure there is more, but those are some of the top of my head.

We have done Universal, SeaWorld, LegoLand, and the Titanic Museum. We also slipped a touch of Disney into our non-Disney trip by going to MVMCP. Also, we took the time to enjoy our resort - it had pools, minigolf, game rooms, etc.

Discovery Cove is a good choice and it comes with tickets to SW.

We have done the Titanic Museum as well, but it may be a bit more than some 6 year olds could handle. Its pretty sombre in parts. Lots of listening and quiet walking as your guide takes you through. OP might want to consider that when deciding if its right for her kiddos.

It also comes with tickets to Aquatica. Both the SW & AQ admission are good for 14 days.

OP, you may also want to check out the new Orlando Eye, SeaLife Aquarium, and Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. All three attractions are opening in early May, and combo tickets are quite reasonably priced.

Thanks so much for the quick replies. Discovery Cove sounds fun, but $$$.

Also, am I right in assuming my boys are too old for Legoland?

DD is 12 and says she wants to go back to LegoLand, but I think she was really at the upper end age-wise at 10. Your younger 2 would like it, while the rides may be a little small for your oldest.

I took our boys to Legoland at 11 and 13 - the 13 yo enjoyed it just as much as his younger brother. It was one of their favorite parts of that particular trip. That said, they are now 14 and 16 and said they were fine with not going this year, LOL.

We did Fun Spot Kissimmee last spring. We have 2 boys and a girl. At the time they were 14, 12, and 10. We all loved it. We bought discount tickets at the resort. I can't remember what it cost, but I don't think it was outrageous. We did all the go-cart tracks 2 or 3 times and rode the rides. We are going back to Florida in the fall and are thinking about going back to Fun Spot for an afternoon.
