DS (6) is a :charac4: lover!! Thanks to these wonderful boards I've decided to try IOA for the first time on our trip. We can't afford to add the "on site" hotel package for the last three nights in Orlando - since we are already doing Disney for 5 nights, then the Disney cruise, etc... I have a room only ressie on site at Disney for a lot less than I could get on site at Universal... so...

My plan is to hire a town car to take us from All Star Movies to IOA when it opens on Saturday, April 29. I bought the adult ticket on line, with DS free.... and I booked the character breakfast so he can meet Spidey. :woohoo:

What is a DO NOT MISS attraction for a 6 year old? :confused3

I'm hoping he loves it and next trip split our stay between being on site at WDW and stay on site at Universal. :Pinkbounc

We went my my DS was 6 and he loved Spiderman, MIB, and a skateboarding (Tony Hawk type) of show at IOA. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back and see the new rides and shows. When we went 3 years ago, RPR had a $99/night deal. DS loved their pool and you can't beat FOTL access to the rides. Please post a trip report when you return so I can get my USF/IOA fix.

Your son isn't the only

lover, I've been ALL of my life!!

My son was 6 when he first did Spidey, he's 13 now and he's DELIRIOUS about getting on the ride again next month. My favorite thing to do is to get a picture of Spidey and me everytime we visit!

Have a great time and take lots of pictures. Before you know it your child will be looking down at you from above and eating you out of house and home like MINE!
:lmao:

concerning the rides, it depends on the type of rides your 6 year old likes.

if he is daring, definitely the spidey ride, cat in the hat, river adventure, ...
for studios, animal planet, et, jimmy neutron, shrek, are tame.

does he do coasters? or more of the kiddie rides like at woody woodpecker.
that place is geared to the much younger set.

if you go to the website of universal, check out the section that lists rides/attractions for children

Last time we were at WDW he was 4 and too short... so I'm excited to find out what he likes now!! :woohoo:

Well your 6 year old will love Marvel island. My son, also 6, loved it to... He loved Spider-Man the ride. (I did hold thight, you never know.. and explained what to expect)...

Have fun

I know this is a family board but I have to tell you all our spider man story. No one in our family has ever been "into" spider man however we love all charactores and want to get our pictures with them regarless of who they are.
So the last trip we got there just as Spider man was making his mad dash from the car to his spot in the building (his photo spot).

So we get in line and there was a Mom and son ( I would say he was 6 or 7 ), in front of us. Being the chatter box that I am I strike up a conversation with the mom and as we get to the front of the line her son , out of the blue says "Mom, spider man's "package" is popping out!! That poor woman looked like she had instant sun burn her face turned so red and I almost pee'd myself trying to keep it together. :rotfl2:

P.S- the kid was right , I just might have to dig that picture out ;)

This just in:

Universal's HR department is currently looking for new actors to fill the role of Spiderman, requirements, having things that come in "small" packages.
