I posted this in the Adult and Solo traveler board as well, but I figured that everyone here would probably have a lot of experience with the florist. All help is greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone!
I posted before on trying to put together some surprises for my husband during our upcoming anniversary trip to WDW! I'e started to flesh out some of the plans and I have some questions..

So far these are his 2 surprises:
Sleigh ride at Wilderness Lodge
8:30am Around the World Segue Tour

I know that during the sleigh ride, you can have beverages on your sleigh as well. Knowing this, I called the Disney Florist to arrange a bottle of wine to be waiting for us there. The total, with glasses and corkscrew, came to $110...is this a reasonable price? (I'm totally out of my comfort zone on that) Considering what Martini and Rossi Asti costs at home, it seems a bit high...

If I decided to cancel this, does anyone know what the cancellation policy is for the disney florist? I can't seem to find any information about it on their site!

Problem #2:
I am also hoping to have a night where we come back to the room to rose petals and cheesecake (his favorite). Is the Disney florist the best way to do this? Could I bring the petals myself, and have room service at Shades of Green spread them out and bring the cheesecake up before we get back to the hotel?

Thank you so much! I've never tried to do anything like this at Disney before, so all help is greatly appreciated!

Angel Ariel, your surprises sound lovely. I'm sure you'll have a memorable vacation because of them.

Yes, that sounds reasonable. Remember, Disney is not known for doing anything on the cheap side. They're a massive corporation that always is concerned about their bottom line. But, honestly, you're getting two glasses, a corkscrew, and bottle of wine hand-delivered to your sleigh ride. The convenience of them handling everything for you is worth a heck of a lot more than the price of a bottle of ripple & two paper cups, if you follow my drift. ;)

If the $110 fee is something that you feel comfortable paying, then pay it and don't think twice. However, if that fee is making you feel very uncomfortable, then cancel your order. My guess is that there won't be a cancellation fee charged, but that is only a guess. Please contact the Disney Florist ASAP to see what their rules are.

I'll see if I can post a few photos of things they have done for me. I, of course, don't have photos of the things that I have hired them to do for others (drats!). But I do have a few photos of things that friends have done for me, and I'll dig them up and post a few links. Maybe that will help you feel a little better -- in a round about way (my fingers are crossed).

I don't know how the Shades of Green operates when it comes to the Disney Florist. You're honestly going to have to contact the Disney Florist to see how they handle this resort. I am hopeful that they handle it like any other on-site Disney resort. If they do, then the Disney Florist is probably the only way to go. However, if Shades of Green has a Room Service department (I don't know if they do), then contact them to see if any fees would be involved in the spreading of non-Disney supplied rose petals on your bed. That should be a very easy question for them to answer.

In case you're not familiar with the Disney Florist website, here it is: click here. On that website you will see all sorts of things that they do for their customers, including the prices and any associated delivery fees, etc. I have always been happy with their services and they have always been very easy to deal with over the telephone. Not once have they ever asked me to spend more than I wanted to. They were easily able to come up with something to suit both my needs and my budget.

This is all my humble opinion. Others' opinions may vary, as it should be. But I hope this helped.

Here are a few links to photos of some of the items that friends have sent to my family from the WDW Disney Florist:

I have a few more photos of other things that we have received, but they're not in any of my on-line albums. However, I hope what I have shared at least has helped put your mind at ease a little bit.

No matter what you ultimately choose to do, I hope you have a wonderful anniversary vacation.

Thank you so much for your insight! I've been to Disney many times, but I've never had any experiences with the Disney Florist, so everything was quite helpful! The pictures you provided were also beautiful!

DH and I already have special glasses from Disney (Cinderella's Royal Table, from our honeymoon), along with a full set from our crystal pattern, and some other special sets to us. That's why I wasn't particularly sold on the whole package, because we don't really need anymore champagne flutes hanging around (beautiful though they may be!)

In speaking with a friend, she pointed out that 25 mins isn't a lot of time to enjoy a bottle of wine and suggested that I arrange for the wine to be delivered to Shades of Green (which Disney Florist will do), so that it is waiting upon our return from the sleigh ride. I am going to bring 2 of the glasses that were used as favors at my bridal shower, as well as a corkscrew set from my cousin's wedding down on my own. It should really simplify everything this way, and (I think!) remain just as romantic :)

I also spoke with Shades of Green yesterday about the rose petal idea, and I asked the front desk if the spreading of the petals and having the cheesecake in the room when we returned one night, and the woman I spoke with said that that is something guest services/housekeeping/room service should be able to work out, no problem. I didn't specifically ask if the non-Disney provided petals would be a problem, but as they aren't actually a Disney run resort, I don't think it will matter. I mentioned that I would have them with me upon checking in, and they stated that should be fine. I'm going to contact guest services when I arrive in December to work it all out with them!

The sleigh ride's happening on our first night there. I'm hoping to have teh rose petals/cheesecake happen 3 days into our trip (after having dinner at the CG), and then our tour is the day before we leave. I tried to spread the magic out a bit, and I think this will work!

Thank you again, so much, for all of your help!

Disney Floral is wonderful. Check out their website at: http://www.disneyflorist.com/

The other idea is to work with Gifts of a Lifetime, or through Disney Private dining for the cheesescake.

Gifts of a Lifetime is great from what I hear but is not inexpensive. They have great ideas! Check it out.

Angel Ariel, it sounds like you have a plan. Great! If you don't want the florist to deliver the wine, see if Room Service at Shades of Green will do so. It might simplify things further (it could be put on your room bill instead of having a separate credit card charge from the florist).

Oh, another plan! Excellent.

I haven't done the sleigh ride but have done the carriage ride. It really is quite romantic -- except that when I did the carriage ride, it was with my daughter since it was a "Mother & Daughter Vacation." The whole time I kept thinking to myself, "I have got to do this with my husband one of these days." ;) I know you're going to love your sleigh ride.

Spreading out the magic the way that you are doing should prove for a most memorable vacation. Your significant other is going to love it.

Happy (early!) anniversary.

Thank you again, Janet for all the thoughts! I think DH is going to love this--the only problem now is making sure I don't spill the beans before December!!I've re-done the order with the Disney florist, and I think I'll leave it that way for now. I will definitley keep the hotel room service in mind though, just in case!

Jonette-
Thank you also for the gifts of a lifetime idea! I have looked at them, and I would like to do this (or encourage DH to think of it! :)) someday, but I don't think this is quite the right time for that. I definitely have ideas surrounding their services, though!

This board is absolutely awesome! I'm sure I'll be back w/more questions before December!

Angel Ariel, I'm glad to hear that everything is a "go." I'm sure you'll be able to keep things "mum." ;)

As to Gifts Of A Lifetime, I used them a few years ago for a special event for my daughter. It worked out beautifully and I couldn't have been more pleased. Jane and her "pixies" did a fantastic job.

Again, have a wonderful anniversary vacation! I can't wait to hear all about it (and hopefully see a few photos, too).
