This will be my second trip to WDW. Easter '01 was HOT! Can anyone tell me weather, guest population, ect for the first week of March?

Will the parks be as "mad" as they were at Easter?

We are going with "first timers" and they are expecting me to know a lot. I still a rookie at this stuff, but I come to you all for your great insite! This board ROCKS!

I think that I Have read that the 1st week is better than later in March as more schools start having their Spring Breaks!! Can you go in Feb before Peak Season starts??

I wish I could! I would go first or second week of Feb. One family member is a college student and this is when they have Spring Break.

The trouble I found with spring break was that not only were hotels more $$$ BUT EVERY LITTLE THING was more $$$!! Even MacDonalds offsite! They saw us coming and raised the prices!! Even during washing clothes a mantance man came and raised thr prices by a Dollar in the Laundry room at All Stars!!!!!!

We went last year first week in March and are going back again this year! As far as crowds we went to MK on Sunday and never waited longer than 20 minutes for a ride. It was wonderful and we felt spoiled.

Weather is interesting to say the least. We had a couple days in the 80's and beautiful and a couple days in the 50's and freezing cold. (This coming from a MN person!)

But obviously we are willing to take our chances again this year. See you there! :D

thanks everyone!

can't wait!!!!!!!!!!! 2/28 is too far away! i think i might have to take more than a week off!

Pooh & Doodle,

We usually go President's week during school break (which is busy but not as bad as Easter) but went the first week in March during our oldest DD's spring break (college) this year instead. It was also Bike Week at Daytona so my DH was happy.

Compared to President's week, the crowds and wait times were awesome. But I should mention, there were no e-ride nights (so we were in MK at ropedrop!), MGM closed at 7, SpectroMagic was scheduled for just Fri & Sat night (fireworks did happen every night though!!). MK closed early - the latest it was open was on Saturday until 9. I don't know if this week has always been this way or if it was due to 9-11. I also found we could change our PS's very easily once we got there, sometimes even the same day.

It was a great week!! We'd do it again but it was really tough for our youngest to catch back up at (high) school.

thanks pinky.

luckily, the three kids going are boy 3,girl 7(first timers- friends of family), & DS 7 (second time). They are great, smart children, so school will not be a problem ( we are taking work w/ us).

My main concern was the crowd #'s. There was so much I did not get to do/see the first time, i want to try and get some of that in this time. I will give the "first timers" some tips, but I feel they need to expierence it for there own, as I did.

Any helpful hints are much appreciated!!

pinky....

I forgot to ask what you meant by "crowds being awesome"??
Is this the crowds were less during Presidents' week or first week of March?

Thanks

President's week is crowded - it's a long weekend plus a lot of schools have that week off but the parks are open later, there are more parades and e-ride nights.

Now that I think about it, "awesome crowds" doesn't make much sense but what I meant was, the early March crowds were very, very manageable. You could watch a parade without being stampeded once it was over, you could actually get a decent viewing spot 30 minutes before the parade started!!!, you could get a PS the same day you wanted it, we watched Fantasmic without getting the dinner package (we headed in about 45-60 minutes before it started). The lines for the rides and shows were shorter. You've picked a great week to go!
