Hey Guys!

Looking to book the 8 night Cruise next April aboard the fantasy, was thinking deck 9 but can't work out which is better, port or starboard side for sightseeing / docked side so you can see the action/Islands etc etc.

Also, silly question, do all the rooms face "forwards" in the direction of travel? or is there a way to ensure I get this?

Cheers :)

Port or starboard - really doesn't make a difference. How the ship ties up one time may not be the way it ties up the next. We find views from either side (ocean or port) while in port are great.

Not sure what you mean by facing "forward". Do you mean inside your room, looking out? Or lying in bed? If the latter, the beds lie (most of the time) forward to aft, with the head of the bed on alternating walls. So one room your head is proceeding your feet and the next room, your feet are leading the way. Generally, if you look at a deck plan, you can see the wall along the passageway, where the doors into the rooms are, you can see a small indentation in the line (covering two rooms). Where the indentation is, is the door. As you enter the room, the bathroom is on the side where the wall isn't indented. In this picture the head of the bed is on the wall that the arrow is pointed at.

Avoid aft on the Fantasy. It can have severe vibration issues at times, worse than any of the other ships.

It's funny, but I chose my room based on which way the bed will be--there were 3 rooms available right next to each other, and I chose the one in the middle because it has the 'right' bed configuration. We've been on 2 cruises before this and they faced the same way...might as well have this one face that way too! It's for my summer Fantasy cruise, first time we'll be on that ship, in a verandah, chose deck 9 forward, port...was hoping for starboard as people seem to prefer that view, but none available. I was definitely avoiding aft based on the vibration issues I've read about!

Be aware that if you are using the sofa or bunk, those are positioned in the room perpendicular to the queen bed. So with head/feet towards the outside of the ship in oceanview or verandah staterooms.

Also, rooms far forward or far aft will be positioned different from those on the sides of the ship (in which case the queen bed is positioned side-to-side and the sofa/bunk has your head forward or aft.

Interior rooms may be laid out differently - often with the foot of the bed at the end of the room opposite the door. There are a few "sideways" interior rooms, so be sure to look at the deck plan and orientation of the room.

Usually (but not always) the ship backs in to Castaway Cay so a Starboard cabin would give a beautiful view of the island.
