Disney Fantasy April 16, 2016 7-Day Caribbean Cruise Meet

Hi everyone. My husband and I will be renewing our 25th anniversary wedding vows on Castaway Cay during the cruise. We are bringing along our two DD, 16 and 8 as well as extended family. We booked in January before the Star Wars days were announced. Once I found out, I told my husband (a HUGE Star Wars fan), that Disney and I arranged it as my anniversary gift to him (Ha-Ha!) He was flipping out! Our anniversary is May 4th...May the Fourth Be With You. Also, my birthday is April 16th so I'm getting the best present ever by boarding a Disney Cruise on my birthday! So we are very excited. We have only cruised previously on the Magic (twice) so a little apprehensive about the Fantasy, but hoping we love it just the same.

Wow! Congratulations! This is also our 25th Anniversary cruise, so I'm especially excited for you. How wonderful to have your family along and to be able to do a vow renewal. We don't plan to do anything like that, but will be spending lots of time at Palo and Remy, and having drinks and quiet time on the verandah. Our DS 14 will be kept very busy in the clubs, so I'm sure we'll have some good quality anniversary time. Enjoy! Hope we run into you on the cruise!

Hello to all. We booked this cruise last week after getting back for our family cruise on the Dream..This will be our 21st (unless I do one before that lol)
Whether I cruise with only my 17 year old or with my grand kids, I only cruise Disney....Excited to be in the FE exchange and so excited for the Star Wars theme on the ship. Looking forward to meeting everyone at some point on the cruisepixiedust:

Hello! My family is beyond excited about our upcoming cruise! It will be our first Disney Cruise and the fact that it is Star Wars themed is just the cherry on top! My husband and I are in our mid-30's and will have our almost 6 year old son with us too (our biggest SW fan!)

We definitely want to participate in the Fish Extender. Not sure where we sign up for that? Any suggestions or advice would be great.

Thanks!

This will by my family's first Disney Cruise!! It will be my husband and I, and our 3 DD ages 15, 12, and 7. We booked this cruise before the Star Wars theme was announced. Having 3 girls we are not huge Star Wars fans and hope it won't be all Star Wars themed. Very much looking forward to it.
Hi there! We will be sailing with our DD 12. She is always looking to make friends to hang out with on the cruise (it will be our 6th Disney cruise!). Are your DD's open to new friends on board? And by the way, we are not Star Wars fans either. We were booked before they made it a Star Wars theme. Thanks! Holly

This is our first cruise ever. I have always wanted to do a cruise and when we heard about Star Wars we knew this is the one for us. It will be me, my husband and our son (25). My husband and son are big time Star Wars fans (I like it too). Since this is our first cruise and help, tips or any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Hey there group... We have tentatively booked this date - super excited that it is a Star Wars cruise.. Hubby is a huge Star Wars fan and the fact that Disney bought them - makes life very happy for me!!

This will be our 6th cruise - first as Gold Members

Travling:
Me (Disney Nut)
Hubby (Supports the Disney Nut)
4 Year Old Daughter (Disney Nut in Training)

** I know its super early to think about - but we are totally in for participating in FE - we love it and making things Star Wars themed = bonus!!!! **

This is my first time here and our first Cruise. What does FE stand for?

Hey everybody! We booked this cruise after seeing the summer 2016 prices and destinations. So excited! This will be our third Disney cruise, first was July 2012 on the Magic out of NYC to the Bahamas and Port Canaveral (spent the day at WDW and went to all 4 parks!) then the Fantasy western Caribbean in August 2014, with a stop in Jamaica. Didn't really want to go back on the same itinerary, but with Star Wars on board and April vacation- it makes sense! Traveling will be myself Deborah, DH Steve (SW fan) DS14 Nick (SW fan) and DD13 Alexandra (not a fan!) The kids don't know and we are keeping it a secret for as long as possible!

Also, I can give a little advice on the ports if anyone needs any- the ocean water at Grand Cayman is amazing, by the way!

This is our first cruise ever so any tips will be greatly appreciated. It will be myself Pat, husband Randy and son Nathan(25)

Hello Pat and family! FE stands for Fish Extender. In short, it's like a secret santa gift exchange between cabins who sign up. There are many threads here on the DIS about Fish Extenders - what they look like, how to make or buy them, and neat ideas for gifts. Delivering your gifts is a great way to see a lot of the ship, and it's so fun to come back to your stateroom to find little gifts left for you. On the main Disney Cruise Line page of the DISboards, there is a FAQ document at the top that will get you started off on all things cruising.

Do you have any specific questions I can help answer for you about the cruising experience?

As far as signing up, one of our fellow cruisers is putting together the sign-up, and each fish extender group is 15 staterooms. If you are interested, you can ask to join multiple groups.

Scroll up to post #73 - then come and find us on the other site - I'm so excited that you're taking your first cruise. Pretty sure you're going to love it!!

thank you for the info. I have a lot of questions. I hope i'm not bothering you when i start to ask them all. I'm not even sure what to pack. We have been to Disney world 3 times. we loved it. we are excited about the cruise. I am interested about joining the fe.

Just stopping in to post that we had to move our sailing to a later date because my DH needs to attend a meeting that will make it impossible for us to get to Orlando in time to board the cruise. We aren't comfortable with flying in the day of sailing and his meeting doesn't end until the night before. Hope you guys have a great cruise.

where can i go to find out the excursions that will be offered on our cruise. is there a dress code? is it good to book excursions a head of time or wait till we get on the ship? I want to read and find out as much as I can before we go. Any suggestions where to go and find any info?

Hi, we booked this cruise back in June. This is our fist sailing on the Fantasy:tigger:, our 7th Disney cruise, and my 10th cruise overall. There will be myself, Magiepooh: retired nurse, my daughter Michelle:mickeyjum and IT tech for Del, and her partner Chris:goofy: a social worker. I have not been on this site before because we were planning a birthday trip to WDW with my granddaughters (16 and 21) for last week. They can't be on this trip because of school, and because we did not invite them (:eeyore:Sometimes I just can't afford to pay more then my own way). Our last Disney cruise was to Alaska in Sept 2012, We are so looking forward to going back. In the mean time this cruise looked very good:cheer2:.

We ended up booking this cruise by chance prior to knowing it was going to be a Star Wars cruise. We had to cancel our original booking from the week before because the school district changed the Spring break week for the first time in 10 years. Less than a week later it was announced it would be a Star Wars sailing. This will be our 12th Disney cruise, but only the second time on the Fantasy.

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone knows where we can get information on the FE groups for our cruise. We have looked in many places and have not found anything. This is our first time doing this and would love to be apart of it. Any help or information would be appreciated.
Check out Etsy.com, I had one made by "New Threads Embroidery" and she did a wonderful job. They also have gifts you can purchase and get some great ideas. Hope this helps!

This is our first cruise and we are sailing with our son and family and our daughter in laws parents. Looking forward to some great memories.

This is our first cruise too! It is going to be Christmas present for my family and they will find out about it on 12-25. Our son just finished college and he is going with us since he is a big Star Wars fans thought this would be good one. The Haby Family

Hello all. This is the cruise meet for the April 16, 2016 7-Day Western Caribbean cruise aboard the Fantasy. Welcome aboard!

This is our first cruise! We are so excited to have booked this Star War Cruise with Disney. My family is going to find out about it on Christmas morning and it will be a great surprise for them. Our son just graduated from college and I thought even at 22 he would love to do this with us before he gets out on his own. I like the saying "At Disney you are your shoe size not your age". Looking forward to meeting some great people.

Hello! This will be our 3rd Disney cruise and second time on the Fantasy. I'll be travelling with my husband, 6 year old son, and 1 year old daughter. Can't wait! I poked through a little and didn't see anything- is there a Fish Extender thread yet?

I thought I had introduced myself on this thread but I don't see it ...My name is Samantha (42) and my partner's name is Richarda (44)...we have a 7 yr old son named Brody. We are huge Disney fans...and have been to the World many times...this will be our 3rd Disney cruise and the 2nd on the Fantasy. We booked before the Star Wars events were announced but as my partner is a big SW fan, it was just icing on the cake! We are so excited...and plan to join at least 2 FE groups. FEs are so much fun and we thoroughly enjoyed doing the FE on the last 2 cruises! Now we are just waiting on the time to tick by before we leave :) Oh, and trying to decide on excursions...we usually just do our own thing when we get to our ports...suggestions??

Looking forward to our second DCL cruise. My head is spinning, trying to figure out what excursions to do! What are other doing?
