I'm really interested to see how many fans pick the Disneyland Resort and how many fans pick the Disney World Resort. I assume most will pick their "home" park, however, we may get a few crossovers!

My pick is Disneyland!

Here is why:

With the addition of California Adventure to the Disneyland Resort, which gave me just as much entertainment and fun as both MGM Studios and Animal Kingdom combined, I’m left only envying Epcot in Disney World. However, once the remodel of California Adventure is complete, I probably won’t miss Epcot as much.

You just can’t beat the original Tiki Room, the look of It’s A Small World, the larger Toon Town, the superior Pirates of the Caribbean, and seeing Tinker Bell fly from The Matterhorn to Sleeping Beauty's Castle inside of Disneyland.

The best aspects of Disneyland are the convenience being able to walk everywhere brings you, (giving you more time inside the parks and less stress), the extra attractions, (The Matterhorn, Indian Jones, Submarine Voyage etc.), and of course, the magic knowing Walt Disney actually stepped foot inside the park.

This is hard as I like both for different reasons. I agree with your reasons about Disneyland. I like WDW because it's almost like it's own world not being surrounded by the "real" world. I like going to the different parks. The weather is warmer in the winter and spring.

Comparing All of WDW to all of DL/DD/DCA, obviously WDW has a lot more to offer.

But if I were ONLY comparing Disneyland to Magic Kingdom, I would choose DL.

I picked Disneyland because I've been there so many times. I've been to WDW twice and I love it. But, it's so far away and going there means a huge time commitment and massive amounts of money. We can be at Disneyland in about 7 hours by car. In fact, we came very close to doing a spur of the moment trip next week. We don't have to be back to work/school until the 7th and we don't have anything planned for next week. I told my DH we could leave on the 1st, spend 3 days at the parks and drive back on the 5th. I even checked around for hotels and found one that was available. But, alas, we decided we should probably save money and we did just go to DL in August. Oh well!

As this website is primarily about WDW, the results will probably lean overwhelmingly in that direction.

I've been to both, & live roughly equidistant from both. WDW is a vacation destination. You can easily stay there a week, 10 days, even two weeks. The isolation from the "real" world is a big selling point, IMO.

SoCal is a great destination, but DL is just one part of that, and for us Disney fans, maybe the best part.

To me, comparing the two is apples/oranges.

I love Disneyland, but I picked WDW as my favorite.

So many parks, so little time.......(and so little money). ;)
