A co-worker of my DW takes a week of military leave per year to go work 40 hours at WDW so he can get CM perks. Does anybody know how to go about hooking myself up with this type of gig. Sounds awesome!

I dont know if this is even possible...

I dont know. He says he just goes there and works at Downtown Disney at a Toy Shop. His wife works as a Kilamanjaro Safari drivers. They just work 5 days and get standard CM perks. It'd be awesome if it was possible. Being in the military myself and living in Florida, that would be an awesome way to get perks.

It sure is possible! It is called Seasonal Status!

Call 407-828-1000 (the casting building) and they can help you get started with the types of positons that are open. You can also check out Disneycareers.com and look under the "hourly openings." You can fill out an application there and chose the type of jobs you would want to work and how often.

It is a great way to get some of the perks! After my first college program I did the same thing to keep my benefits!

Yep, you will hear all sorts of positives/negatives coming from cast members. While it was hard at times, it was also always a total blast!

WoW,who knew...to bad that I an now on the blacklist from Disney..I worked there MANY years ago, and a better job offer came up, and I took it. I finished out my schedule with Disney...many years later, I re-applied after getting layed off...and they told me no...I was on the no rehire list...bummer

What a bummer. With my military background, I figured I'd work well with security and I present the professional "Disney Look" that they desire. I'm no stranger to "hard" work so I don't think it'll be an issue. I'm excited for the opportunity to see how the other side lives.

WOW...who did you P*%# off?! I've never meet someone on the blacklist...and I know a lot of people who have done some pretty terrible things :scared1:

I used to hang out with a bunch of the EPCOT security guards backstage on my lunch break from Guest Relations! They are a hoot!

After you have been with security for awhile you can do plain clothes security which I always though would be a blast. You get to walk around the park all day and "pretend" to be a tourist while watching things!

LOL, no one that I know of...I was only there for about 2 weeks, maybe 3. I was offered a job at Publix Corporate, paying almost $5 more an hour than Disney was...of course I was leaving..LOL..plus no weekends...I gave basically 3 days notice, or something like that...even had the blessing of my supervisor...guess someone in the higher ups didnt see it that way...

Mind you this was now almost 5yrs ago...and I was trying to get a job in 2009...wonder if it is still an issue.
