Today my son had his Pirate Cruise adventure. We did this last year & he really enjoyed it so he was happy to be doing it again.
We arrived over at the Floridian right on time. I checked him in & he met boy a tad older then him & they ended up being partners on the Cruise.
They left, hunting for treasures. My mother & I decided we would just enjoy the scenery at the Grand Floridian, so we just grabbed a light breakfast at their food court & ate outside there.
It was a very nice morning & gave my mother & I some time to chat & visit.
Finally the pirates came back with their bag full of goodies. My son told me he had another wonderful time. We said bye to his new friend and fellow pirate & headed off to Magic Kingdom.
First thing we see in the Town Square area was King Louie & Baloo. I was excited, we have met Baloo before but never seem to run into King Louie. We get in line & they go in just as we were the next people to be seen. The CM tells us they will be right back out, so we wait. Within 5 minutes, King Louie & Baloo came back out & we got our picture! Yeah!
We decided in honor of my sons Pirate adventures we would hit Pirate of the Caribbean first. There was posted a 40 min wait, we decided to wait since on the way to got some FPs for the Jungle Cruise & needed to waste some time before we could go back there.
We tested the go left theory when the line broke off & it really worked this time! We were on the ride within 20 minutes of stepping in line! Yahoo!!
Our time still wasnt up for Jungle Cruise, so we saw the Tiki Birds & then enjoyed another Dole Whip.
After that we were able to go on the Jungle Cruise. We had an awesome guide!!! He was the best, I believe his name was Ryan.
We then headed up to the Country Bears. Now we always seem to skip this but this trip we really wanted to see some of the stuff we always seem to miss. My son was NOT impressed with the Bears, he actually seemd bored with it. I dont think we would go out of our way to see the Country Bears, unless we wanted to go & cool off.
We then headed to the Halls of Presidents, again something we never saw. We really liked this a lot. Even my 4 year old son was impressed with it. We will make a point of seeing this again on the next trip.
We took a ride on the Liberty Bell afterwards.
We had a 5:00 PS at Liberty Tree Tavern. None of us had ever eaten here so we were curious how it would be. Before going in though we grabbed at FP for Haunted Mansion to use when we got done eating.
We really enjoyed the Liberty Tree. Very good service, our server was the BEST, Great Food & wonderful character interaction. The characters that we saw were Meeko, Minnie, Chip, Dale & Pluto.
I was worried because I am a vegetarian & I didnt know what they would bring out for me. I cant remember what she called it, but it was very good. I just could not eat all of it because there was SO much of it!
After our meal, we stepped into the Haunted Mansion. Like I said before my son & I love this ride!!!! My mom doesnt care for it too much, she doesnt like scary things, but she goes on it to please my son, plus my son said he would hold her hand.
Once the Haunted Mansion was over, we decided to slowly walk back to Main Street & find a seat for the 9:00 SpectroMagic Parade. Of course we stopped in a few stores before finding a place to sit!
We found a great spot & some CM asked my son if he wanted to Hula Hoop, so my son was doing the hula hoop in the Hub area. It was great, I got some great pictures of him with the castle in the background.
It started to rain, I mean really rain. It wasnt looking good. Around 8:50 it was still raining pretty good, so we decided to just leave. I am not sure if they canceled the parade that night, but I would be surprised if they didnt.
So it was a fairly early night back at our resort, but we all had a great day!
I can not believe the trip is already half way over!!!!
