Disney Dream Trip Report- Updated and Complete! Questions are welcome.

Thanks so much for the wonderful pics and all of the details!!!!! We will be on the Dream for our first cruise in May. Your photos truly helped to get a full vision of what's to come. We are so very excited! :dance3:

Thanks again!!

Thank you so much for the pics!!

In your opinion has the food in improved on the Dream particularly in The 3 main restaurants? You mentioned you were not crazy about the food in AP, what was it that you did not like specifically?

I only ask b/c my husband and I always like AP the least on the Wonder.

Thank you so much for the great report (and getting it up so fast!!) :thumbsup2 Your pictures were fabulous!! I cannot wait until April 3rd

Hi! Thank you for the trip report. My first cruise with Disney is on the Dream. It was wonderful to hear about everything. I have heard on other ships that fellow dis board members would meet on the Promenade. Is there a Promenade on the Dream? If there isn't could you recommend a place that would be good for the dis board members to meet before the ship sails.

Loved reading your report and seeing all the pictures! Thank you!

Thanks for the report, it's awesome. One thing I noticed, am I correct.... there is no more MICKEY HEAD shaped pool like on the Magic and Wonder? My son will miss that, but I think the Aqua Duck will make up for it!! :thumbsup2

Thank you so much for posting this TR and for all the pics!! It all looks so gorgeous!:goodvibes
I too am a little concerned with the size of the pools relatable to how many more people can get on this ship....:confused3....but I'm sure that our double dip at Castaway Cay will make up for it (or at least I hope!)
Thanks again for sharing!!!!
Robin

Completed!
The Pool Areas: Alright. The mystery of the missing hot tubs....

Good news, they do exist!

They are situated away from the pool near the windows on the side of the ship. The bad news, they don't make bubbles :( The jets blow but no soothing, bubbling, foaming water. The good news, there is a see through bottom in them. When you look through, you can see the ocean below.

WHERE are these hottubs... in the family area, or in the adults area only? My DS9 will be crushed if he can't sit in a hottub and watch shows on the big screen, like he did on the Wonder.

not sure if anyone else noticed this, there was a picture of the concierge rooms that was blocked off by a gate which is accessible only from your kttw card. This could really cause a problem for giving out FE gifts to people in that area! What are we to do! :worship:

Wow, really? To keep us lower class Cat. 6A riff raff out?!?! :sad2: That scene in Titanic were they bash down the gate comes to mind!! Shame, Disney was previosuly always the best as far as making everyone feel equal onboard, at least to all outer appearances.

Thanks so much for the great pictures and report, I can't wait to experience this lovely ship in person! :goodvibes

I think someone commented earlier that this was just the lounge area that was blocked off. The rooms are still accessible through the main hallways.

You're not the only one to think of Titantic!

If I'm not mistaken, the gate is only for the concierge lounge, not the rooms. Yeah, it still lets you know you are not welcomed there...but they do put up those Private Party signs for the Concierge get-togethers on the Magic and Wonder.

At least it will not affect FEs!

Hi,

Thanks for posting this. I love the new Shutters! It sounds like it will be so much easier to find our pics.

Whew! No gate busting then! :rotfl2:

Did everyone notice in the pics album how some of the "fish" for the FE's are Seahorses and Starfish? Cute!

Yeah, I'm not sure what the best answer is. On the Magic and Wonder, room service brings by little treats each day directly to your room. My guess is the lounge eliminates the need for that and gives concierge guests the ability to get treats whenever they want (more like concierge in a hotel).

Unfortunately, the real shame is that Disney is forced to put up a locked gate to keep people from partaking in concierge benefits who aren't concierge guests. It would be nice if that wasn't needed, but I'm afraid it's not reality.

I have not been on the Dream yet but the pictures I have seen give me a different impression of what is behind the locked gate. I actually believe that
there are staterooms behind that gate, at least on deck 12. Look at the picture below:

DSC_0519.JPG

First, notice the stateroom door. Then, look at the wood paneling on the left of the picture. You can see the reflection of the gate in the wood. There are definitely rooms behind the gate.

Edit: See the very beginning of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnJQq2p4JZI&feature=watch_response_rev
for an idea of how to get to the lounge.

thank you so much for your pictures and information!! Hope you had a fantastic time!!

Thank you so much for the fab report and pics. Now I have NO HOPE of living a normal life until I have been on the Dream:rotfl2: - 2 weeks today:cool1:
