Disney Dream Party of Eight: 5-night Double Dip June 7-12 2011

I know I have seen directions elsewhere, but can you give me some basic idea of how to make all those amazing door decorations? My kids saw those and just flipped. Now they want me to do that too! If you can tell me where you found the images, and how you made them into magnets, that would help a lot. And did you just insert text boxes to customize them?

Many of the images I found through these boards; look for some of the DISigns threads. Many users will customize them for you. If I could find good "blanks", I did them myself by just opening in Paint or Word and inserting a text box (I downloaded a free "Waltograph" font - google it).

I have a thermal laminator (cost about $50) and I laminated them all. The first batch I attached magnets and laminated - but I found better results by laminating first and attaching magnets afterward. I used free magnets (stuff that you find stuck to your local phone book and insurance ads and stuff), and when those ran out I bought a roll of magnetic tape at Michaels for about $7 (sticky on one side, magnet on the other).

Here are a few sites I used for obtaining images - most of these I believe are DIS'ers:

Thanks for posting your trip report, I've really enjoyed reading it and looking at the great food pictures. :)

Thanks for reading! I learned so much by reading other people's trip reports, I hope I can "pay it forward" with this one.

Thank you Melissa for the guidance. I'm well on my way to having some magnets for our first cruise ever. I appreciate your help!:)

Some random somewhat cruise related things...

The picture my mom had commissioned from one of the artists at the Downtown Disney art store:

The mat that we dropped off at Guest Services to be signed... now to decide what photo to put in it!

The print we purchased at the on-board gallery... now to decide WHERE in our house to put it...

The prices onboard at shutter's:

We ended up purchasing the whole CD for $249 - gives us unlimited rights to print as many copies as we want.

Boy, That was fun !!!

Thanks for the TR !
I am just starting to read up ... We will be onboard the dream April 2012 just like you ! Spring break. our DD is also 4...5 when we board.
I thnk she will have a great time .

You ARE a crafty bunch!!! Holy cow!

More crafty stuff... Wristlets for everyone (even the boys, for theirs I put on clips instead of wrist straps) - for my 4 year old I made them "purse style" (with a strap long enough to wear as a purse)
