We are sailing on the Dream in June 8 2014. Anyone interested in starting a fish extender sign ups or meets?

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :cool1:

Have a great cruise!

We are sailing on the 8th, my 2 girls and hubby. Into meet up's, but probably not extenders. Met some great people last week on the Fantasy!princess:

We have been looking forward to this cruise since we first saw it. It will be the four of us, my wife, my two girls (14 and 11 when we cruise) and myself.

Family of 5 here. Counting down the days now!

We are interested in going to Atlantis through booking at the Comfort Suites. We're looking for a group of 3 to share a room with for our 5th wristband. Let me know if you're interested.

Sailing Dream with my husband and four children (YIKES!) This will be our first cruise ever! Kids ages at the time of the cruise will be 11, 9, 7 and 2. We are sailing with my parents and brother and sister in law and their three kids as well! So excited! None of the kids know about this yet...my parents are surprising them with this for Christmas!

We did the fish extenders on a three night in June last year. My kids loved coming back to the room and getting the "mickey mail" that was left at our room. It was just an added bonus to the cruise.

For those that don't know...
A fish extender is a hanging "pocket" that attaches to the fish clip that is outside of the rooms. These are used for the crew to put reminders or other items on. Usually each "pocket" has each person's name on it (mine didn't have names but had pictures of characters). Then each family puts a gift or two in the pockets during the trip for each family/member. Each family makes and brings their own extender. Just search for fish extender and you lots of great ones!

We got small toys, candy, pirate gear, dish towels. magnets, note cards, coasters, and lots of other things. Some of the items we used and some we didn't but it was more the excitement of getting back to the room and going through our "mail". Some of the items were handmade, some were store bought, and some were a combination. I don't think that it really mattered as it was the thought that counted!

Also, our group cut off the sign up about 3 months in advance so that we could go ahead and know for sure how many gifts that we needed to made and tag.

A few things to think about are: weight if you are flying, how much you want to spend, do you want to spend time delivering gifts (we enjoyed getting to go around the ship), and will you be happy with about anything that you give since it is more of the thought than the actual gift (you can't please everyone).

I would love to do this again and will help someone set it up if anyone else is willing!!!

Can't wait for June!!

It is my two children (7,8) and my mother that will be with me.

I think we would like to participate. I have two girls 5 and the other will have just turned 7. Starting the countdown!!!:cool1:

Awesome!! I would like to start a facebook group for it (so it is closed to just cruise members). I have to have one friend to add to make a group. If someone will tell me how to do this (I am not facebook savvy) then I will get it set up and we can get started!!

Feel free to add me to the group on FB. You have to start the page for a group and then you send invites to the people you would like to join the group. DH has one for our condo group in Ormond, but he administers it, so I am not too familiar with how it all works.

We are first time cruisers that can't wait to get on board the Disney Dream. We would love to do the fish extender group (my sister-in-law told me all about it). We've got three kids (7 years, 4 years, 1 year). How do I join? Is the Facebook group going?

If instructions on setting up our "Disney Dream June 8 2014" group are still needed. Here is how to set up a Group on Facebook. We'll want to make it Closed. My Disney Anytime, once you go to set this up you'll need our names on Facebook to invite us, message me when you set this up and I'll send you my name to invite me and I'm sure others will do the same:

To create a group:
1.From your home page, go to the Groups section on the left side menu and click Create Group.

2.A window will appear, where you'll be able to add a group name, add members and select the privacy setting for your group. Click Create when you're done.

Once the group is created, you'll be taken to the group. To get started, click at the top right of the group and select Edit Group Settings. From here you can add a group description, tags, set a group email address, add a group picture and manage members.

I set it up -- if someone else did, I apologize and will cancel it but try searching FB for "Disney Dream June 8, 2014" and see if it will let you join. I am new to adding a group but followed your directions, so we'll see. I guess you can also message or email me your FB name and I can search for you and ask you to join?

So excited!!!

I tried searching for it but there was no group that came up. Maybe we need to send you our names so that you can invite us??? I tried to set one up but it wouldn't let me until I had at least one person to invite. Let me know and I can send you my information. Would like to help you administer the page if possible. Not too good with Facebook but really enjoyed the fish extender when we did it in June!! Can't wait!!

MyDisneyAnytime -- Crzy4Dis is going to need to invite us...just message her privately and tell her your name on Facebook so she can invite you...once she invites both of us and we accept that should get the Group launched and from there people will be able to search and find our group. Looks like this is going to happen...so excited to do this on our first Disney cruise!

I changed the group from "Secret" to "Closed" and I changed the title. You should be able to search for it now and once we get some members -- I can go back to "Secret" or leave it alone. I changed the name of the group because I didn't want every person on our FB lists knowing when we were leaving.

www.facebook.com/groups/Disney-Dream-FE-8

That should get you there. If you want you can still private message or email me and I can add you also. I don't think you all have to be on my FB list but if so, no problem. Let's try it and see what happens! So excited for this! First time doing FE's but second cruise.

Thanks so much for doing this. I sent you an email. I can't get the link to work. I think you are going to have to invite me to get it working
