Disney Dream Family verandah staterooms/larger balconies

There is vibration in the aft balconies (at least the staterooms that we have been in: 7194 on the Dream and 6192 on the Fantasy) - can't argue with that. But I can't say that it has ever bothered us as it has, unfortunately for others. The vibration was only noticeable once when we were backing into Castaway Cay due to the currents - it seemed to take forever for them to back in. The other time was when we were returning to PC very early in the morning - it was still dark out - that woke us up but we quickly fell back asleep. Sometimes the wooden hangars in the closet would rattle together. We just took down that ones that didn't have clothes on them and that fixed that. All this is to say, it is an issue that you need to be aware of, however, none of it has ever been bad enough that it would dissuade us from booking another aft extended verandah stateroom. We just love having our reclining loungers out there with a glass of wine in hand.

Look up 5052. It's forward/port side and it has a massive balcony. I have it booked for my next cruise but haven't sailed on it yet.
We stayed in this room and the balcony is massive!!! We booked GTY and major pixie dust. Not too loud in the hall, convenient location. We loved it!! Picture doesn’t do it justice

So category 4c, the rooms are a little bigger, but the balcony is smaller? What’s the difference in the stateroom? Thank you! This first time cruiser appreciates all your help!

Some rooms sleep 5 and will have an extra murphy bed between the sofa and the verandah. Others will have a chair in that space. So the extra size of the room is roughly equivalent to the width of a twin bed. The balcony is regular size instead of oversized.

You also get the round bathtub with rainfall shower instead of the rectangular bathtub with regular shower head. Some people like that. And the stateroom does feel more spacious and have an extra pull-down bed or two. That's the difference on the Dream class ships between a deluxe stateroom and a deluxe family stateroom. The latter is a slightly bigger stateroom with the round tub & rainfall shower. The only exception is the 4Es which don't have those features. They have the larger balconies, instead.

We have stayed in 6192 and 7194, both of which have extended verandahs. We are staying in 7194 again (our favourite), next year on the Fantasy just for that extended verandah. But as mentioned above, selected Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah, select Aft location and then look for Extended Verandah. It isn't just on deck 5 though - as I mentioned we've been on deck 6 and 7 which in this category.
We're staying in 7194 this September and looking forward to it! Thanks for sharing that it's you're favorite! We had originally booked 10160 to get something bigger at the back of the ship but found 7194 open a few weeks ago and switched.

I hope you enjoy it like we do! I know some don't like the aft cabins due to vibration but to be honest, it's never really bothered us. Sometimes we could hear the hangars banging in the closet, but we just took the ones down that we weren't using so that fixed that problem. The extended verandah is soooo nice to relax on and the views when in port, especially Castaway Cay, are beautiful!

The light blue cabins are the 4E, Extended verandahs.

Here was my rationale for choosing one of them (Besides the extra deep veranda. We aren’t concerned with people looking at us. We have the depth of a regular Verandah in the shade - with loungers.

We are booked in a Deck 5, Forward, Starboard, to avoid the rattles of Aft. Just decided not to risk that. Also prefer Forward to avoid the weird elevator location on the pool deck (having to go through Cabanas). Also like that 5 Forward is near entertainment venues on Decks 3 and 4. Encouraging using stairs.

Also, Port side Deck 4 (the outside Promenade) allows smoking from 6p-6a.

We opted for 5546 with its rounded corner to allow a broader view of the ocean.

We are right over the door from the Walt Disney Theater elevator lobby out to the Deck 4 Promenade. Hoping that’s not an issue.

If we didn’t chose Forward, we would have gone with 5650 - it’s balcony is the width of two balconies - that would be a wide view of the ocean.
I am considering cabin #5546. How did it work out for you?

We have been on the Dream twice and Fantasy once, all times we had a 4E room at the aft, once we had the wrap around one right on the aft/port side, other times we were ride in the middle. We love the huge balconies. We always stay on deck 10, never understood why others seem to hate deck 10 so much but it takes the pressure off trying to book as soon as you have access. We have never found the vibrations or noise from above to be a problem. Soot early morning was a very minor problem once but was cleared early. We like deck 10 for easy access to cabanas and other recreation eg Edge club. All times the cabins we had, had a big bed, a sofa single bed and a ceiling pull down bed, none of our rooms had the single pull-down from the wall kind of bed. All rooms slept 4. The big balconies had the big lounge outdoor chairs, so much better for lounging/napping on the balcony.
This coming trip we are going on the Treasure and have a port side cabin with the larger balcony in the bump out, excited to try something different, though we picked deck 10 as our son now qualifies for vibe and we wanted to be close again.

Thanks for the details! Sorry I missed your response until now. We ended up booking VGT as it was $950 less. This is our very 1st cruise so I just couldn't justify the extra money. But...as Disney always seems to suck us in...I'm sure we will love the cruise. So we're crossing our fingers & hoping for some pixie dust for a lovely extended verandah! :)

Got off the Dream about a week ago and had cabin 5662. It's an aft cabin with the larger verandah. It and cabins around us vibrated like crazy during our entire first night and part of the fourth night. We couldn't fall asleep. On the other nights it was fine. I called Guest Services at 3am, someone came up and agreed that it was unacceptable. They gave us a mid ship cabin to sleep in which was fine with us.

I will not take an aft cabin on the Dream or Fantasy again.
We were in one of these on the Fantasy in 2018, can’t remember the exact cabin #, but we had the same problem. It was worst the last morning pulling into PC, and lasted probably 30 minutes.

Same here, I would never do that again.
