Hi Everyone,

This is my very first post! With that said, I need some expertise.

Some background information, I want to surprise my brother for his college graduation but I'm not sure on what to do. I've only been on one cruise before and same with my brother and that was on Royal Caribbean and a little over 10 years ago.

I know it's Disney but as far as their cruise pricing it's not cheap.

What to do you like about DCL and what makes it worth paying a premium over say Royal Caribbean?

I was considering a Veranda, see link.

Would you rather go to Disney World and if so why?

When we were young, our parents took us to Wilderness Lodge. I liked the resort a lot, however, if we did Disney World this time, I would like to try another resort. Any suggestions?

Also, only can do one option cruise or Walt Disney World.

I'm 24 and my brother is 21, not sure if this helps in choosing, both fun and expensive. He's certainly active and likes doing a lot a different things. I'm more laid back but would be up for pretty much anything that he wants to do. Also, we are not die hard fans of Disney.

Pros/Cons for both cruises and Disney World appreciated!

My only con for the cruise is 3 days isn't a lot. You may feel like you want more time. However I understand more time may not be affordable.

If the cost limits you to just the 3 night cruise, you may want to go WDW just so you'd have more time. I've only done the 7 night cruises and can't imagine the shorter ones. It would seem to me like they would fly by so fast you'd wonder what happened.

Yeah that is a good point. I actually booked a cruise for next January on Royal for a 7 night eastern cruise on Allure of the Seas. I'm probably leaning towards Disney World.

If you are both adults and not die hard fans of Disney, DCL is nice. Lots of great options for adults. And 18+ restaurants like Palo and Remy, Serenity Bay, Quiet Cove section. Awesome.

If he's very active and you guys aren't die hard Disney fans, I say go for Disney World. It will definitely keep you busy. Disney cruises are great and relaxing. I'm just not sure if it's the best idea for a college graduate that's not a Disney fan. Have a great vacation!

My mind is over all the place and I'm waiting to hear back from Mouse Savers for a quote for a 4 night cruise on May 22nd. Then spend the rest of the time at Disney World for 3 days. What do you guys think about that? I know the cruise will be about 2500. I would spend 3 nights at a moderate resort with 3 day park hopper pass. I went on the Disney website and found out it would cost about $1450 with the meal plan. What do you guys think about that? Too much or just stick with one or the other. Is mouse savers a good travel agency and is it cheaper than going thru Disney themselves?

I would say end with the cruise. It sounds like a lovely compromise. Also TAs aren't cheaper but they often come with perks like on board credits.

Probably disney world if its only a 3 day cruise. Try for a 4 night if you can.

I say the cruise, but we just completed our 10th LOL We live in Orlando, so as you probably know that time of the year is going to be super hot. Heck, it's already starting to get hot. The best option is to combine a 3 or 4 night cruise with days at the park. I'd definitely save the cruise for last though, so you can recover from the park days ;)

I'm trying to do a 4 night cruise along with 3 days at Disney world.
Now that's a good plan. 4 night cruises give you the whole package. Port, private island, day at sea. Disney cruises are definitely not cheap, but well worth it. Hopefully you can compelete this. Good Luck!

We're doing the 3 day cruise and then 11 nights at Disney World this time round, if you can afford to do both I would definitely suggest that
