Disney Dream Christening Cruise!! 1-19-11

I just thoroughly enjoyed reading this entire thread! I'm a travel agency owner and I knew I was being invited, but I foolishly booked my family's airfare for the day after we're supposed to arrive for the Christening. They're coming in for the TA Earmarked Cruise and have opted to camp out at the Contemporary instead while I enjoy the Christening. So, I get to bring 3 of my girlfriends and we are going to have the best time! None of the 3 have ever been aboard a Disney cruise ship and many of you know how magical it is to bring someone to anything Disney for the first time - you see brand new through their eyes. It will be an amazing trip!

I really appreciate all the information being posted. Last night I tried to pull up my cruise information online and neither the christening or the earmarked cruise would pull up and I got hopeful they'd assign stateroom numbers overnight. Alas, they did not!

So, is anyone going to join me and bring their fish extenders? I'm guessing they'll be popping up all over the ship! Thanks for the thread! I'll control myself and stop talking now. ;-)

Hi! And so glad you are on here, we'll have to chat:) I love to talk shop. I just found out I'm newly EarMarked and I am giddy enough you'd think I was riding Dumbo for the first time!

I'd love to do an FE...anyone else interested?

Congratulations!!! One of the girls form my area whom I've met at local training in DFW just found out, as well. It's so much fun to find out all the bits and pieces to it. This is only my 2nd conference and I can't wait.

PM me with anything and everything you're wondering. I love to chat Disney!

If it is like a normal boarding, they will start at noon even though the stated time is 1:00. But with the repositioning, who knows?! I wonder if we will get boarding cards? Or if we will have preassigned boarding groups? VIPs probably get on first??

I received my Magical Express tags today---soooo excited!!! :cool1:

The ship will not be pulled alongside the dock for the actual christening ceremony. For the Magic and Wonder the ship was sitting out in the harbor a bit. So they will have to “reposition” the ship and pull it back into dock so we can board.

Maybe the repositioning won't take so long then, if the ship is already out in the harbor a bit? (a girl can hope, can't she? ;) ) I'm still having a hard time picturing the logistics of where we'll be and what we'll be able to see for the Christening ceremony. Guess we'll know soon enough!

T-22 days . . . just sayin' pirate:

Hi

I received a media invite as well for my family travel related website. I was glad to find this thread since the details have been sketchy so far. We're staying the 18th at the Grand Floridian so it seems they're putting guests everywhere. I'm bringing along my teenage daughter so we're thrilled to finally go on a Disney ship.

T-17 days!!!!
and still don't have a stateroom number.
Would LOVE to have more info this week!! :cool1:

I know! Any scrap of info would be good at this point. We can't even decide what to pack until we know more about events, etc.

In recognition of looking for ANY scrap of information about our cruise....:thumbsup2 I found this on the travel agent website today.

The Disney Dream will sail 3-, 4- and 5-night cruises to the Bahamas beginning with its maiden voyage on Jan. 26, 2011. Check out the next issue of D-Mail for a special link to watch the official christening ceremony on Jan. 19, 2011!

I'm sure they have something fun planned. Just wish I knew what is was!!! I will have to tell my husband to look for me while I wave at him! He will be home in MN with 16 inches of snow and all 4 kids. Doesn't really seem fair, does it?!? :goodvibes

I want more info, wah!!!

me too!! all I know is that we are staying at the polynesian and leaving PA on a 7:00am flight on the 18th. sent an email to our rep, here is the reply.

"Greetings!!

Can you believe we are only two weeks away from the Christening of the Disney Dream?! I hope you are excited as we are. As you can imagine, we are working at frenzied pace to get everything, as we say, “Show Ready.” I wanted to let you know that we will be sending out your confirmations (flights, hotel, and cruise) as soon as we can; your patience is greatly appreciated. If it is an urgent matter, please do not hesitate to contact me. In the mean time, check out www.disneycruiseline.com for the latest updates from the Disney Dream. Have a GREAT day!!"

OMG, no I can't wait. :woohoo: 2 weeks from now we will be having dinner on the Disney Dream!!!

Two weeks from today we'll be on Castaway Cay!!! How cool is that?!?!
But I'm not sure if I'll want to even get off the ship. Is anyone else freaking out that we may not have enough time to see everything? :sad2:
You know, I can't help but wonder what wonderful thing Disney has planned for the Christening. They've made such a ta-do over the ship leaving the shipyard and the ship arriving at Port Canaveral, hopefully the Christening will be really spectacular. ;)

I have a stateroom number!! Cat 5A, deck 10!!
I also spoke with that sweet man, Darren, today and got a little more info. He said I should receive my docs before I leave. But no worries if I don't because a hospitality room will be set up at the WL to get everyone ready for the cruise. He told me that guests staying at the WL will be picked up at 7:45 am on Wednesday to go to the port.

So, anyone else about packed yet? :goodvibes :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

That is so great, congratulations! I have had a cabin for a while, I guess because there are five of us, but I would love more info about the party. Does anyone have dme tags? I don't need them since I am in the night before but I am just curious.

I got my stateroom assignment as well! Maybe all the travel agent prize winners are going to be together?? I am also a category 5A on deck 10!! Yippee!!

I did get my ME bag tags. They even say "Disney Dream Christening Cruise" on them!

I am happy to hear about the hospitatlity room at WL. I won't worry too much about documents or bag tags then...

But I'm with the rest of you...sure would like more info on the party and any special events on the cruise!!! I'm wondering if now that they have the stateroom assignments done they will be able to move on to getting us the rest of the details?!?!

EXCITING!!!! :cool1:

Ok, this is the kind of information flow we like to see!!! :goodvibes

Come on party details!!! :cheer2:

We got our ME tags, as well. I got a 2nd set, even though we didn't request them. :) I'm definitely keeping a set as a keepsake. It sounds like we're all deck 10 and we're all at WL. I am so excited, I can't believe it! I let the girls who are coming with me know as soon as I found out.

We're going on the christening of the Dream, people! Can you believe it?:woohoo:

does the Christening Cruise go to Castaway Cay? I understood that this was a "cruise to no where"?. I am so bummed out reading all these posts. I still don't have ANYTHING except my luggage tags.

hopefully next week I will find something out??
