Disney dollars on ship?

I have never cruised with Disney before but have with Carnival and RCCL.. Just wondering if I was to put my credit card down when we check in, can we go to pursers desk and use disney dollars to pay account down? Not sure if they let you use dd..

You can put DD on your account and ask them to "use" them before charging to your credit card. I have DD set aside for my trip in Dec. and already have some set aside for our trip next June. It's a great way to save for your trip. Have fun!

Just to make sure I understand.. When we check in prior to getting on the ship we give them the dd and then ask them to use the dd first and then balance on cc?? Do they give you something showing that you gave them the dd?
