Disney Dining With Toddlers

That's why I put "our" in capital letters. I wish we could do the early breakfast like your family, but we can't. Sounds like we are the exact opposites. Our little night owl loved the nighttime parades.

Our kids are one and four as well and we loved the Crystal Palace as our character meal...well to be honest every place we ate at the parks and resorts was very kid friendly (including Le Cellier) and we have messy/picky eaters. Narcooses was the only place that I would not go back to with little ones but we took my dad there for his birthday so we all went that night. Chef Mickeys and sci fit diner are great for the small ones as well and all the restaurants we dined in had kid friendly fare... Chicken fingers, burgers, fries etc. The buffets had more healthier options than the menu items like fresh fruit and cooked veggies. Most of the time DS shared food with DD (4) or just ate from our plates.

Yeah, that is pretty funny. We were staying 5 nights when we went on our July trip, with 5 days at the parks, so I knew my kids couldn't handle going to a nighttime parade at 9PM (they are later in the summer because it gets dark out later), and then make it to a park early without completely melting down at some point in the day. Even DH got way exhausted going to a park everyday of the 5 days. He turned to me and said that we should go on 10-night trips from now on and only go to the parks 5 or 6 days so we can have rest days in between and enjoy the hotel. He also wanted to stay deluxe from now on for a queen bed rather than a double. That's when we looked into the DVC and then after much research decided to become members.

So on our next trip we will be trying to go to SpectroMagic one evening and see how the kids are with that, but only on a night when we are not going to a park the next day! If my kids are up late they sleep later in the morning which makes me feel very lucky. Hopefully they will continue to be that way!!

Can anyone with young children tell me what you thought of these choices:

Ohana
Bierngarten
1900 park fair (Princess/evening)
Mama Melrose Fantasmic
Yak and Yeti
Kona
Chef mickeys
Whispering Canyon Cafe

We went in October with our son who was just turning three. For him, the most successful restaurants were the character dining experiences and the buffets. The key was "built in entertainment" and not having to wait a long time for his food along with a lot of variety in food so he could try different things if he didn't like the first.
